In this type of carving, you create a scene with relatively few strokes. They have to be in exactly the correct place and in proportion to all the other cuts. In these pics, plz take note of the rolling waves, find the person in the surf, note the sailboat (for Lon it’s a Gaff rigged boat with jib and long bowsprit). Note the shading to create mood and note the scale of cuts to create the depth in the scenes. Note the Cloud work, and the carved in shadows (relative to the position of the sun).

These are panels of the cases to contain our jewelry down in the Coastal Shops.

I like them, they will be great for your displays. Wish you luck on the sales. As an idea small round earring/pendant set with the shinny Al hammered motif. You might have to do a smaller die for the earrings maybe the dolphin or turtle. I know this is not Barnes airguns or knifes but bills are bills and the lights need to stay on. Hope your health is holing up.

Hi Gary,

Thanks sincerely for commenting. All the work does, in the end; create a “body of work”. I have always found variety and contrast to fill out an Artist’s gallery. Ten thousand copies of the same object or same technique isn’t as interesting to me.

I’m about to assemble this case. I do want to make some stand alone wall hangings with shadow box frames. I have gotten a smile every time I’ve come back across these Case components. I love the Ambiance.
Thanks again for a note of encouragement. It’s great to hear from someone I respect. There have been quite a few, who bought my fine work, who have also understood that I’m doing all in my power to process the “rest” of my career and needs. Pain is real bummer. I do my best to deal with the “realities” of what I’ve been given. Thanks sincerely

Gary

Really nice wall hangers! Great for people who want the memory of being at the beach.

Must take an artistic eye as I couldn't do it. I used to draw but didn't keep it up after my teens.

Hope they move in the store.
