I can see the apple emblem from your phone in the reflection of that shiny 3rd photo ! They sure take good pics and of course the subject matter helps too!

Pretty knife, and pretty wood too, is it stabilized burl or just cut and polished as it comes out of the root ball?

Stabalized Sean. Yeah - otherwise an oatmeal cookie would have greater strength. This is vaccum treated so it's permeated with resin. Not just a coating - it's thru and thru.

Another case where beauty and strength in a piece of wood don't come together without a little help. At least you don't have to worry about weight in knife scales like you do in a rifle stock.

Honestly, the whole knife feels nearly weightless. That is absolutely the first thing anyone says about a model 97. I work and fit. I engrave and polish. I heat treat sharpen .... and .... and ..... wow

First comment is always .... "It's so LIGHT!!!!!"

Haha.

The scales weigh about half a Saltine Cracker.
