I want you to know something. I have 43 years of Pro experience. It takes be about four full days to relief carve these bolsters. Those are 12 hour days. What's that worth? That's just a "feature" on the knife.

I know .... you like it better plain. Well, you buy it and I'll grind it smooth for you, for another $500. How's that?

I've sold about a dozen of these nice 97s for $1,200 over the last ..... 5-7 years? These bolsters are bigger. Much more carving on this one. Did I break the template for $25 more per Bolster? Maybe I did.

Oh well. It will cut tomatoes in the kitchen, and look nice doing it.

That knife is a monster . I'm sure I saw a picture of it next to a scale ruler and remember 8-1/4" long open . It almost covers the whole stump you have displayed it upon !

Yeah. Me too. Though I completely understand the numbers, I can't produce "fine work", without it taking serious time. In my fifth decade in the shop, the time involved is not because I'm fooling around, or learning how to do it. It's because fine work is an investment of skilled labor over time.
