Each piece of the carefully laid up Wooly Mammoth Tusk Mosaic, has been chosen for a pleasing blend of color. The absolute minimum age of the Tusks, is 10,000 years. It's quite routine that Tusks of 30,000 years old are found. Some components here may well be. The color and patterns will be caused by age, minerals which were in the ground containing the Tusk, and climate conditions in the area where they were found. If you are not aware, the search for Mammoth Tusk is a totally legal part of the economy of indigenous peoples in areas such as Alaska and Siberia. They then sell to merchants and craftsmen. The natural materials you have chosen are beautiful & the way you've inlayed them , I'm sure they have become a permanent one piece scale for each side of the knife . I'm really happy with the design you have picked for the arrangement. I know besides the look of the knife , ALL the other things that make a folder great are there . I for one will NEVER carry another for daily use . It's Barnes for me.
