This Time Traveler came thru my shop, in need of adjustment.

I completed this 8-8-1990. About 27 years ago.

Hope you enjoy seeing it. Do you like these? Barnes Liner Lock, Stainless and Mosaic. Ancient Mammoth Tusk, Turquoise, Lapis, Ebony.

Gary,

That knife is looking much batter than when you received it. And I'm sure it's much sharper again.
Thanks for your rehab work!

Thank you Karl,

Pretty, isn't it. Love the blend of the colors.

This is the design I made for so long, with the tang projection to easily flip the blade open. Everything old is new again. Ha.

Thanks very much for commenting. Here in my shop in the woods, it's easy to believe everyone left for ice cream, and I didn't get the shout. Haha

Wasn't somebody asking about the easy open tang not too long ago?

So on that knife with the tang protruding , is it a liner lock also ? Does the tang with the notch have a part on the liner it locks into ? If so is it typical that you push the liner to the side for release ?

The shape is really sleek and with the colors added it just looks like it's going Fast .eye popping smiley

Thanks
Kurt

Hi Kurt,

It's a Liner lock.

Yes, it releases by pushing an integral leaf spring out of the way. It has a ball bearing detent to seat it closed.

The projection is an integral part of the knife tang, not the liner. Pushing down on the projection atvrest, flips the blade out. The projection rides around with the blade, and winds up out of the way, laying just inside the profile of the knife handle, along the spine of the knife. It's completely out of the way.
