It’s also native to Hawaii.
It’s one of the most dense of woods.
Also known by the name of Goncalo Alves. Used to be prized for hair brush handles.
Only about 10% has a “Curly” grain. It’s like Curly Maple.
This wood is prized for a Deep reddish brown color with dark brown accents.
It’s so hard you can just sand and polish. It doesn’t need a “finish”.
I see it as the top drawer of WOOD
