I love my tea with cream & sugar too . It's a treat I save for weekends & or when I'm sick !
Is that a good tool for a novice forger when heat treating say ...... knife blades ???

Yes, I think it would help a new Smith recognize the critical temperature for quenching steel.

I was hoping it might help recognize welding heats without staring at the white hot Forge. I've never had one of these. Saw it in the bargain bin at TSC. $15. Can you imagine? Verrrrry clever these geeky fellows. We shall have to watch them veeeeeery closely....

Those actually come in handy.
