Kurt’s Son, Jake. Shooting their Circa 96-97 Air Cane. Great to see folks enjoying my work. A Father’s Day enjoyable time. Very nice.

That's a cool gun. Several questions:
Is it smooth bore or rifled?
Does it have sights?
How accurate is it and at what distance?

I'm glad you're enjoying it!

Hi Scott,

It IS rifled.

It DOES have sights. A fine low blade and V notch.

You will be able to group as well as you hold it. We can suggest that Kurt might do a session seated with some sand bags. As many hours as Kurt works, he might like the “seated” part. Haha.

Next time he drops by, he’ll have to bring it along.

It's very fun to shoot but you hafta kinda use the double hand technique where you let the barrel lay in the crook of your arm/ elbow. I love to shoot free hand without a table and bags and even scopes . I love open sights too . It's way different when hunting . Gary actually made a couple of sights that came with the cane . They screw into the wood after removing the old one and have different elevations. I'm sure if the cane was clamped in a sled it would make one ragged hole . It's truly a fun fun to shoot .

Thanks
Kurt

I forgot the extra sights.

I have a really neat peep sight apparatus I designed once. Have to findnit. Was supposed to be a quick project... yeah ..., but I ended up making an elevation screw and nut for it. I think I lathe machined an 86 thread per inch tap to cut the nut and lathe cut the lead screw. All brass. I think the project grew as I worked and I became convinced the earliest parts were not up to the later parts and so tabled it. So much of that around here ....

Hmmm sounds like ALOT of work . That small stuff has always been the hardest for me . This little peeper has to my favorite. I love the details you've done !

Thanks
Kurt

Thanks Kurt.

Glad you like it.

That’s an oldie/goodie.
