This is an Aurora XL with Carved and Fluted Nickel Silver Bolsters. It has Carved Bone Scales and a Fileworked Spine. This is a fine folder in the Classic Traditional School.

It’s been sold. Carving and Bone Dye Toning to be Completed. Will go out Friday.

I'll bet drilling those screw holes in the scales is a nail biter.

Hi Lon,

It’s a careful procedure. Very sharp drills/bits. Special hand made pilot bits. Drill “before” carving. For some, specially made clamps and/or guides.

Don't those files make your hands hurt just looking at them ?? I'm sure there just props ! I happen to love that flutted work on that style of knife . I can't believe you do all that with those beautiful scales still attached. I was staring at the orange/ blackish tape thinking there was different scales and two knives until I realized it was filings . I've got the smaller version of that pana vise and it's my favorite. Just think Gary if YOUR vise could talk . I see you using it as a straight edge for the hand filing . Nice work forsure.

Lots O filing for sure.

The more I learn about metal working, the more I appreciate hand tools. vises and files still have their place.
