Drop your marker here Please. $395us plus $20 USPS PRIORITY AND INSURANCE

A GREAT, SLIM 97. 6 9/16” OAL. This is extremely smooth. Finely made. (Don’t count on these always being here. They are labor intensive). I had the idea of a quicker build. But I can’t ever build a simple piece. I make this nicer and that better, until the thing is “Just Plain Nice”. Haha. Thanks for checking.

Best,
Gary

SOLD SOLD SOLD. Thank You!

There are so many details that most likely escape your first look at this great folder. Such as the Machine Screws. You don’t just buy them exactly the correct length. Consider also, these are hardened and tempered steel. You don’t just nip them with cutters. You have to use an abrasive cut off wheel. You must maintain the threads, and not deform the shaft. They are difficult to hold and they are small - so very apt to spit out of a Hand Chuck or any other grip. You are very likely to spend some “floor time” hunting for them during the pursuit of that happy GREEN DOT indicating completion of a step.

And once you cut them to length, the raw end must then be ground to a rounded, sanded, and mirror polished profile. This is done for EACH screw. The heads are also sanded and polished. When I see “Prepare Machine Screws” on my Checklist, I know there are quite a few steps to be completed precisely.

The reader may wonder WHY? Why bother? Because ..... People are crazy. Politics is corrupt. Luck is fickle. There vast topics we’ll never understand. Etc. But a Barnes Pocketknife was honestly made. No corners cut. Extra attention given to make it pleasant to use. And if you don’t loose it, and you teach your children and grandchildren well; you can pass it on to them.

This post was just about the Screws. I could bury you in details regarding all the steps. Haha.

I read the above again, Tues., 10/13/20. What I wrote was spot on. I’m now elbow deep in the screws for another fine knife. I just wanted to bring this forward and I’ll take pics of the new knife asap
