It’s going to be Really Fine.

Each side is a 12 Piece Mosaic. Quite a lot of work to cut, balance, and assemble

Plz keep watching.

Moving into the relief carving. There will be several “Passes” after I finally approved the design layout. There are details you can’t see because of reflection. The highlights will be highly polished and the recessed shadows will be black. It creates a dramatic piece.

I needed to design a format that would blend the geometric mosaic and a vine and foliage engraving. Get it wrong, and you can’t imagine the mess.

I’ll be in this all week.

Next pic ....progression. If you see any small irregularities, that’s what the next “pass” is for.

Thanks Scott,

I thought it was time for one like this. I think it’s going to be a worthy piece.

Hope you follow along. I was surprised at the time the twelve piece mosaics took. But I think they have a real balance and I love the colors.

Current Status. If you notice any small things or “hot spots”, that’s what the next PASS is for. Need a preliminary buff to see some of them. If you don’t see any ... good. Hah.

This is a great knife and has gotten considerable attention. I have a probable sale on this one. If this is the combination you all like, I’ll repeat the style/family.

Hi Kurt

Good to hear. Glad you like it. I like the combo too.

I was contacted regarding purchase. I think I should have had 3-4 of these. Yes, this one is sold. It was $1,200us.

I appreciate your interest.

I’m always setting back unique pieces of shell, ancient ivory, and stone. You know, I cut the pieces from the raw shell with a diamond wet saw. Same for the stone. I cut the ancient ivory with bandsaw from the odd Mammoth that wanders thru the bog.

I enjoy laying up the colors and patterns. Glad they speak to you.

Best
Gary
