And it's not like you'd catch the Post Office guys open today either!by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I can't believe how big the grandkids have gotten, wow did they grow fast! I think Sal is going to have a good time with his new rifle, it looks like it ought to be perfect for his intended use.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hmmm...if your mosquitoes are big enough to skin and tan the hides, I'm not sure it's safe to go outside there.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
My teeth hurt just thinking about that sound...yikes!by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Aw shucks Gary, you gotta come up with a better story...fighting a gator in the dark recesses of your underground drainage tunnels, huge python that came up through the toilet drain while you were shaving, stumbled upon a giant carnivorous lizard at your shooting range...something like that.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
OK, gotta ask...whats a turbine tool? Also, you can bump my folder down to the bottom of the list, I'll be out of town next week. No point in having the package sit out in the rain or get sent back if I'm not here to sign for it. Seems like every time I get the new UPS/FedEx/Post Office guy familiarized with which door we actually use, they send out a new guy on our route. I even tried puttinby rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hey Gary, Just noticed the background to the (excellent) photo of the knife...is that alligator skin? Hopefully not one you found on the property!by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
If you did an aluminum one, you could go crazy with the anodizing and have all kinds of color. I'll be it would be interesting with the hammered finish too. :Glad you found a good home for "the pirate knife".by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Now THAT has some character, nice! This is a conventional slip-joint knife, no locking mechanism?by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Even thought I rarely do any work that requires real precision, there are times when I have to admit that I'm just too tired or not mentally there to get started on some projects. Especially working on electrical, or up on the roof. This gets better with age and experience, right?by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I really like the looks of this knife, the hammer finish especially. Nice and thin too, always a bonus. There's a house up here with an all-copper roof, I'll try to get some pics. It's a real piece of work, looks like they're going for the gothic castle look, lots of fake brick siding as well.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Some of those giant "everything and the kitchen sink too" swiss knives are pretty unusable in the real world, aren't they? I think they make them more as a novelty than as an actual working tool.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I'm always amazed by what people can envision and create. Check this video out, the stuff he makes is hypnotizing. Or this, don't care much for the music, but the piece at the end is worth watchingby rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
For me, the difference between a knife that I admire versus what I'll consider buying boils down to the question "will / can I actually use this on a regular basis?". I've got maybe a dozen different pocket knives in my dresser drawer, and I suspect that a lot of people on this forum probably do as well. Up till the knife that I bought from you (which I'm looking forward to getting ), I think thby rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I hope you get to make at least one of everything you've ever thought up. Of course, that WOULD make you immortal since you keep coming up with new ideas.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Although the "urban dictionary" has quite a different definition for gimping (a not very kind one), Websters defines it as an ornamental flat braid or round cord used as a trimming. I'd assume that the file work on the spine of a knife or back of a folding knife spring reminded someone of a braided rope cord, and gained a similar definition as part of the decorative work.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Six dollar Wallymartworld knives go in the dishwasher just fine, but any real chefs knife deserves better treatment than that.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Very prettyby rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks for the tips, Gary, I'll have to try them out. On the bright side, I'm expecting something in the mail that folds and I can play with. I suspect it'll be harder to wear out than my old flip phone.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Garys airguns always come with a side of Grim Reaper Pretty much the only time they change hands is when someone dies and their estate sells it.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Ah...I get it now. Alas, my trusty old flip phone is no more. After years of assiduously avoiding all Apple products I finally ended up with an Iphone. That's right, I have officially come over to the dark side,. Observations from a first-time "smart" phone user: Yes, it does have a larger screen, yet they have somehow managed to still make many items too small to read without my cheaters eby rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Wasn't this one magazine fed as well, round balls? I seem to recall that it had a unique action of some sort with that 4-way lever on the side. And where's the trigger? Can't see it in this shot.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
definitely one of your more unique pieces, is this one CO2 powered?by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
It's pretty impressive the things they can stuff into a phone these days, one company even has an infra-red camera built in to theirs.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Is titanium harder to press into shape than similar thicknesses of steel, for example?by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
One of the main drawbacks to being human, none of the parts are available off the shelf. The few minor bits and pieces that you can get are all custom built, and installation costs a fortune.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Nice piece of work, fairly unique in that the blade hides completely when closed.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Ah HA! That's your problem Gary, you need new bearings. Everything in the shop seems to, why not you?by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
When I took metal shop in high school I always liked the smell of the dykem blue, probably full of dangerous solvents. Same with gasoline back then, I used to work at a gas station after school and on weekends. These days it just stinks, probably the new additives.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
