Hello Neil, Thanks. Yeah - I'm working on the stock. Will be good to get it to the field. Right ... hey - the finger looks terrible when oversized like the pic. The skin looks like elephant skin or something. My hopes of becoming a hand model are fading. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Doc, I put that pic in for all of you doctors in the audience. Ah ... how did I hurt it? Being stupid. Isn't that the usual way? haha. I needed the barrel clamp completed to test Hugh's Nitro Express. There's a threaded machine screw thru the clamp. I usually thread the threaded side while it's still whole, and in the drill press. Then I cut it in half. Usually, the threaded porby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Since Hugh (the owner of this pc. BTW)... mentioned A 45 ACP shooting 200 grain .452 bullets at 850 ft/sec ( john browning's original specs) generates 321 ft lbs at the muzzle. I recalled that I had the Barnes Raptor in 46 caliber. It comes in at about 227 grains. I shot this test this morning for comparison. We're nearly 100 foot pounds beyond the orig. spec. for the 45 ACP here. Moreby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Hugh, I definitely defer to the experts on all meat grinder cases. Glad you are pleased. It sure does pack a punch. I didn't shoot it more than 3 or 4 shots thru the muzzler. Without a stock, the action is quite a machine to hold onto. I better get to work on that handle for it. ;?) Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Scott, Actually ... the super glue instantly saturates the fibers, turning it into a sort of fiberglass. Pertified - nothing is getting into that. Makes a hard shell cap over the wound that was sealed with superglue first. I can work in a dirty environment. I can scrub my hands with the usualy grit filled hand cleaner. No filthy bandaid every half an hour to change. Years of experiby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
The Hagan 46 Nitro Express had it's "First Fire" Celebration this evening. The absolute first shot it ever took was over 490 foot pounds. The target FPE was 500 fpe. It's second shot taken, was 508 foot pounds of energy, by just adding 200 psi. It came in exactly where it was planned to shoot. The Barnes K-8 slug on the scale. The K-8 thru the Chrono. Got a nice mail from Julio. He had the 46 Caribou at the range, and was moving out to 100 yards. Copy: Hello Gary: Last Saturday had a chance to go to the range with the Caribou and had a lot of fun. First, I started the session zeroing the scope at 50 yds. and then moving to the 100 yds. Hey, what happened to the 65 yds., 75 yds. and 85 yds? Hi Neil, When they shoot a pumpkin that bursts upon leaving the barrel .... they call it ... to "Pie". Must be fun to have a group of friends working on a fun project and have the place to do it. I have a great design for a pumpkin cannon in the back room of my brain .... just none of the other critical components. Garyby barnespneumatic - I'm just sayin'

Well - you're lucky. They never want to turn my rotors ... they want to REPLACE them. They talk about the "Hot Spots" and how they warp ... what a crock. The things are smooth and fine. Yep - never enough time. I did the relaxing weekend stuff. Brakes on the front of my truck yesterday (cause nobody will simply replace brake pads without wanting to replace half the truck. Did some of the honey do list. AND, I fixed the clothes dryer today. Hello Neil, I figured some Emu had you cornered in a thicket or something like that ... Good to hear from you. Hey ... after something like 670 views ... it's good to have at least the same regular five guys comment from our membership. It keeps me going ... ya know? Thanks for your comment. Was talking to the intended owner of the Barracuda. We discussed a Holographic sight. Seems like it might be a good match. Endless eye relief. Some of them have a one MOA dot too. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Hello Joe, Yes - those are neat. I'm going to make a version of that on a long tube sight one day - for a project. However; I think Jim was asking about some mechanism that would allow the gun to recoil back, and hold the scope forward. The goal being to avoid getting "scoped" by the recoiling scope eyepc. I'm sure it's possible some way ... but I know enough about machinery to know thatby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Just for the record, I checked the cans today. They are in a bucket in the back of the truck. Each one had a clear indication of a hole. They are all roughly burst open ... but I could either find a hole itself, a clear entry indent on a shreaded can shard still attached, or a clear exit bulge on each of the different can's fragmented petals. So; the slug, did indeed ... pass thru all of theby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I don't know Jim, My instinct would be to say that the tolerances would be absurd, to maintain accuracy. There's not an issue so long as the optics are matched to the specs. of the gun. You don't build custom guns so a specific scope, or any random scope could find a home there. We only experienced an issue on the first Yukon 62 shoot because I'd proofed it in the shop at 5pm, and we hadby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Welcome Steve, I hope you find the Rendezvous relaxing and enjoyable. "Neil" is a great fellow from New Zealand. He shares some mind numbing beautiful photos of his area. I suspect you have similar views. If you currently shoot, please feel free to share your guns and range time. Thanks very much for joining us. That is a good idea Joebill. It would look neat. However; for this ... this is a ton of machined billet alluminum. As you know ... anodizing is the process for aluminum .... and the dragonskin was a multi-layer enamel effect. I want this to have the silvery/shimmer of the anodized colors. Thanks Cedric, It's now a Tofazfou production, but I try. Glad you like it. Drive over and try it out. I'm going to have to get around to doing something to the recoil end before I shoot it again. I was using a leather bag between it and my shoulder. It's planned to have some technology in there. I wanted to make certain I had a baseline first.
