I can't wait to see the next steps and then the finished product. Lots of skill there. Gary Lby DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Just remember that there is no snow to shovel and the heat is what old people (LOL) like and why they move to FL. East coast is hot and humid this week , Ca is just hot (and fire smokey). I here Alaska is nice except for mosquitoes the size of hummingbirds. Glad to here things are moving along, we all enjoy the posts. Take care and stay hydrated. Simple, clean, beautiful. I do like the handle material on such a functional knife. Great Job!!!!! Gary Lby DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks for updates. It has been very interesting to watch the various knives come along toward the finish line. The daggers and esp the Damascus dagger. Waiting to see what the etch makes it look like. I know you are working to keep the lights on, but thanks for taking time to update all. Gary Lby DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Verne blade very nice!! Will set well with the southwest blade. Don't really see the hamon line, but I am sure its there just hard to photograph. DO you individually engrave the Barnes logo or is it a stamp and clean up/ chase the lines? I am sure you posted something on this but cant really find it. The pictures keep building the excitement for the project. As do pictures for the dagger and Kurtby DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Very small piece, it would need to be embedded in clear epoxy or casting resin and then inlay-ed. Any ideas if it is practical/possible at all? Meteorite samples coming soon. Have Earth to moon Classic Illustrated to ship you for ideas. The Around the world in 80 days illustrations are not quite what I was thinking about, very few Balloon/steamboat/technology etc. Not so much into the storyby DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Actually I am thrilled to see the blade. I can tell where the hardening line is. I do know on some of the blades you can see the line after polishing . Its nice to know what it looks like before all the polishing effort goes in to the blade. Any thoughts on "earth to Moon " by Verne? I will forward an illustrated abbreviated version to you in a few days for possible consideration by you.by DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
LOL, Gary you are to be an old fashioned blacksmith , forge, anvil, foot pumped bellow, etc. None of this fancy electronic stuff, you know; batteries, light bulbs, etc. Just a coal oil lamp and a coal forge and a 3 lb hammer. The universe is trying to tell you something. No on a more serious note, I am glad you and Kelly are ok. It sounds like a very close lightning strike, they are very uby DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
1) Yes, but I like a larger knife for daily use. Also a heavier blade as I tend to use/abuse them. My Barnes are only for more delicate (yes I know they are tough but not good for staple remover, small pry bar, wire cutter, etc all the things you should not do with a knife) cutting and show/dress/ cigar cutting. I also have travel knifes. Inexpensive Schrades or small Bucks or similar that if Iby DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
WOW, great detail. Gary L ps I only use drones pps Think about around the world in 80 days, you may have to read the clif notes or Im just sayin that a 3 month build might work. Or Both if you want to stay with the Jules Vern theme. I do know that you have a issue with a lot of repeat work, no 2 of your custom knifes are the same and you always are experimenting/improving/exby DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

OK, I can see a big difference in the 2 panels but I cant tell what happened. Was one with magic sharpie and then you engraved? or one was first pass and then a deeper cut ? or what? Gary L BTW it looks great!by DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
You sell buggy whips, I have been looking for a source (LOL). The knife is very nice and I would order it but saving money for the Jules Verne. OK, as a craftsman you are great, the Jules Verne, the Southwest motif, and others show many of your talents. Some of the talents the knife buyers have forgotten when you moved to airguns. As a MS in your heyday you had a great reputation, then you moby DeepstarDiver - I'm just sayin'
Gary, On a small knife (size of swiss army knife with file about 1.5 in) a bail hole to put on my key ring, if the size of the vest pocket folder not sure what i would like, on my large southwestern 97 bowie blade, nothing it is perfect. On a smaller 97 that is a user and keep in pocket maybe a clip if it goes with the couture of my hand. (I have a Schrade that travel with 3.25 blade and 8 in oby DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Looks great, I do like the inlays. The engraving matches the knife and you. The anvil for the forge, the squirrel for Fl. And the old fossil (LOL) at the bench . Waiting to see with contrast hard for me to pick out much more details describe them. Looking forward to the finished project. Gary Lby DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Looks very detailed, I am not a fan of the SciFi/Fantasy dragons etc.(TIlting at windmills about my limit) Love the southwest motif. on mine. But having said that there are many many people into Fantasy. Not sure how well it would go at your website but at a knife show should sell easily (lots of fantasy blades). No matter what it will be quality and when it sells the person buying will be satisby DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Beautiful work, nice to see walnut on a rifle!!. Have not seen many lately. Hope the headaches go away, are they migraines with a starting aura? Any ideas on the triggers (for the headaches not the guns).? Just remember the sun will come up tomorrow so stick with it and I hope it gets better for you.I was able to isolate my triggers and have it pretty much under control. But it is tough when theby DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Looks very cool, is there a lacquer coat to keep it bright or is constant polishing needed on the bright copper? The hammered texture caught some of my (shotgun) shooting buddies attention and got a lot of admiring. It is hard for me to get a great picture to show off the buckle on a belt. Lots of glare. I will take #8 AND #9, check in mail as soon as you let me know shipping. If you are doing german silver (nickel) let m know. Gary Lby DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
What are the dimensions of the buckles? Thanks We all hope you are feeling better soon, being laid up is no fun I was out for a week flat on my back due to a back strain and had to take it easy for the next month, no fun. Gary Lby DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I did find a cure for the tape measure issue. Free Harbor Freight Tapes, I kept getting them and leaving them all over the house, the garage, tool boxes, table saws, band saws, near lumber, etc. I probably have 20+ scattered throughout the area. I also have 5 new ones (oops now 4 one ran away) on a hook above the tool bench. The length of the tape is just right for most things. LOL, So after reading the posts on the collectors that keep the original box (that their air rifle came in) I was wondering do I keep the box this knife comes in for added value? (A GENUINE USPS PRIORITY MAIL cardboard box!!!). I do enjoy your posts even though I have little to contribute in way of machineing experience, air rifle shooting etc. Only thing I am sort of good at is collecting stuffby DeepstarDiver - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

As someone that has lived in the Midwest for 30+ years ......At least you don't have to shovel the rain off in winter. I worked in the south for 2 years and found out why work is slow in summer. Its a killer..heat AND humidity. Just remember the State Bird of Wisconsin (northern part of the state) is a 3 in mosquito. Stay cool and take care, hoping for the best on your neck and all.
