Good work there Gary, sold hot off the press! Hope you have a happy Thanksgiving. Regards Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks Gary, Jerry, Sal and Julio. I am quite organised with a few of my guns.....I can safely say my ,22 Falcon, .25 BSA Lonestar. the .44 Green Machine and Ms Fugly (pretty much) are all ready for the hunt. That leaves another 4 guns to be properly set up, so there is still plenty of work in progress! Hope to get a goat hunt with the .44 soonish, it is a case of sourcing a hunting ground withby neilmcp - The Hunting Camp
Last weekend I spotted a hare up the valley and decided this was the one for the Green Machine Carbine, which had not yet had a kill in the carbine format. I stalked around the hillside and as I poked my head over the brow of the hill the hare was on the move. He stopped near the bush and I lasered him at 60 yards, a little too far for me with the scope zeroed at 40 yards. So I crept back aroundby neilmcp - The Hunting Camp
Gary and Kelly that is seriously good news! Hope you had a nice feed!by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Night rat hunting sounds like the way to go Pedro, hope you can get it sorted out OK. Regards Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Pedro, thanks! Gary, it's 1:12" pitch. Sean, it's an in-line striker. Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Damn the Inspector! Sounds like the agent is motivated enough to get you through this Gary, pity though you have to go back there...one last time and you will sort this I'm sure! Best of luck Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Julio, Ms Fugly is a rear hammer.32 cal, 240 mm overall length with a 186 mm barrel. Shoots 100 grain cast slugs at around 513 fps (58 fpe), 5 good shots off 3000 psi. Danny calls it an experimental gun, he was playing around with a rear hammer design. He hasn't gone for all out power on this one. Gary, Lon and Sean, her looks are growing on me the more I see her! Most of all though, she iby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Danny nicknamed it "Fugly" as he thought it was a little ugly for his gun cabinet. I actually like her very much, she sits nicely in my hand. I have re-named her Ms Fugly. She is a .32 cal fun pistola. I am no great offhand shooter, nor have I much experience with open sights, but it still groups nicely for me at 10 yards offhand as these 2 groups show. I will pick the best slug for itby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Well Jerry, there's still another 25 yards left on the scope tape..... Gary, you had me worried for a bit, but I just tested your theory and found that the house gets bigger the closer I get back to it. It's like magic!by neilmcp - The Hunting Camp
Very nice work there Gary!by neilmcp - Gary's Galleries
Julio, my scope tape runs out at 175 yards!!by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gidday Julio Chairgun is a great programme and takes the guesswork out of long shots like this. And it helps to have relatively calm winds, unusual here! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - The Hunting Camp
Hi Sean Standard diablos...15.9 grain BSA Wolverines (=JSB Exacts). The gun is shooting these at 860 fps (around 26 fpe) and according to Chairgun they deliver 8.22 fpe at 150 yards, so still plenty of energy.by neilmcp - The Hunting Camp
Thanks Kelly, Sal and Gary. I'm still smiling today! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - The Hunting Camp
I achieved a goal tonight...a clean kill at 150 yards with the Falcon .22. I wandered out on the back deck after tea and thought I saw a reddish brown shape way over on the hillside across the valley. My eyes not being what they used to be, I dragged out the binocs and sure enough it was a hare hunkered down. So out with the Falcon and rangefinder. I set up on my shooting bench, using just the bby neilmcp - The Hunting Camp

Now that is really great news! Hope the process goes smoothly! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Very nice work Gary, how do you achieve that high gloss finish (if it's not a trade secret....)?by neilmcp - Gary's Galleries
Hi Gary Still going strong, in fact bigger than before after it was partially relocated to make room for some new construction. Apparently it will exist in its present site for at least another year before re- building takes over, at which time it may relocate elsewhere in the city. Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Sean, you are right, there is a master plan for the city which incudes green belts and precincts for Arts, Sport, Justice, Health etc etc. Too early to say how that will work out but there is some controversy around it all. And there are a lots of new buildings on the periphery of the city and companies tied in to long leases, so that will affect the repopulation of the central city. Hi Gary Thanks for thinking of us. It's hard to believe that it'll be 4 years in February since the big one. Life for us is pretty much back to normal, both at home and work, but for many it is still a case of awaiting house repairs and endless arguments with their insurers and the Government agency EQC. The rebuild of the centre city has finally started, although in its early stages, and thereby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Fingers crossed that the new realtor will work some magic. Sounds like the lady with the horse wasn't hungry enough for a sale Best of luck with the house and your lungs Gary. Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Looks like you have to be quick around here! You are certainly churning out some impressive items Gary Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Like that jewellery Gary! That's frustrating about Maryland...is the area generally depressed to result in no-one buying, or is it seasonal or....? House prices and sales are mad here, but that's a direct result of housing shortages due to the earthquakes wrecking tens of thousands of homes. I wouldn't wish that on Maryland though. Regards Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks Gary, Julio, Lon, Sean and Pedro. There's a chance that I may get to hunt some feral goats with the carbine on some hilly terrain about 30 minutes drive from here...just need to get permission from the landowners. I'll keep you posted Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
