Couldn't be a snake, had to be a "Dragon". Looks cool.by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, When Jerry started quoting scope ring prices all of the sudden your custom rings with those exquisite finishes seem like a steal.by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Paul, There is a ton of info on the yellow forum about these both good and bad, mostly good. IIRC this is a desirable gun but may be hold sensitive, nothing unusual for a springer though. Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jerry, If you optically center the scope you can get a better idea of the horizontal scope to barrel alignment.by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Power shmower, I just think the gun looks COOL! Who wants power anyway?by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Neil, Wow! Nice shooting. Beautiful place. Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Every hunter knows that if you don't want deer disturbing your shoot you need to dress in camo and shoot from a well hidden blind.by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Looks like you guys had a great time! Jerry, I lightened up your picture so we could get a better look.by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Looks like a pinion gear. Doubt I could buy one from H.F. that looks that good. Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Psssst...............over here................shhhh. Have you ever tried to make a bigbore airgun?by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I saw it! I saw it! I didn't dare say anything though.by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Dan, This is the vise I bought. It has gibbs to keep it tight and it's pretty solid and heavy but still managable for a home that doesn't have a dedicated shop.by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I'm sure it's just good luck but so far you've been right on the mark! I stumbled onto the fast spindle/smooth surface thing through trial and error while waiting for your all emcompassing reply to my e-mail on lathe operation. I'll check my tools, I did expect them to arrive sharp. Hey, can you whip up a small set of reamers for me when you get some spare time? P.S. "You musby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Funny how we all see different things. Now that I'm into my lathe I was more interested in your reamer, quick change tool post and tha wirey shavings coming off the part. I just installed my QCTP and did my first perfect "facing". Oh, gun looks cool.by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Neil, That may be one of the best ever recorded. Nice! Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Guys, I don't think I couls have bested Jerry's group with a .308 Remington. Nice!by Bigbore - Video Library
Neil, Honestly, JSB's aren't the top pellet in a lot of my guns. Now the Kodiak/Barracuda, that's a pellet!by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Yes, turning tools. I've ordered this quick change tool post, it looks pretty good for the price, hardened steel not aluminum: I've also been looking into tool grinding but one step at a time, got to make the new ones dull first.by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, "How's the lathe learning curve coming? Having fun with it?" It is still going on behind the scenes. The tools that came with the machine mount above the chuck centerline, I have a quick change tool post on the way and you know it can adjust for tool height. I'm pretty much stalled except for some tinkering that doesn't require precision. It is however very clean and shiny. Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jim, JSB's don't shoot well in all guns in my experience, My Rapid wouldn't shoot them worth a darn.by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Nice, quiet too. The Ranger series are great guns!by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
"it's the STOCK that we want to see!" That's what I hear. P.S. Gary, that tapers on the end correct?by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, These posts have more meaning to me than ever now. I was actually looking at a set of reamers yesterday but now I know I can just whip them up on the porch. I did attempt to harden a sear a week ago and it seems to have worked as I've put over 300 hundred rounds through the gun without a problem. What a set of skills it takes to machine and I haven't even gotten to the stock yet.by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jim, I would suggest picking up a few spare magazines too.by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jim, Pretty good. I can't believe you're not tempted to lighten the trigger just a little.by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jim, How much was the rifle? I'll bet it'll shoot plenty straight. You borrow that scope from Gary? Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Thanks and same to you and all the forum members. Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Why didn't you tell me my dial indicator fine adjustment was upside down.by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, "Getting that magnetic base to stick to the ways of the bed is the hard part." Wow! Interesting that you had the same problem when you were starting out, I feel better now. I think I put too much WD-40 on the ways and getting the correct sequence on the On/Off switch of the magnetic base was a bear. I'm getting things down pat now and completed a few simple familiarization projby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
