Had an unusual hunt yesterday and thought I would share. Kent left me the Grey Fox to play with for a while and I decided it needed to draw a little blood. I have some friends in town to hunt, so I figured I would take the Barnes out after a hog while they tried for a couple deer. I was in a stand with a roughly 100 yard shot (1st mistake). After ten minutes in the stand, out come three pigs allby egra099 - The Hunting Camp
Don't make me put you in the 30 ft tower stand.... Without the helmet...I'm having to tie my hands behind my back not to post all of the hunt stuff. I promised Kent I would let him post about it first. Come to think about it, he was planning on doing that starting yesterday. Hmmm.. I am sitting in the blind, typing this on the iPhone. You'll hear ALL about it if I get something.by egra099 - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
You're killing me Gary, that is just cruel.by egra099 - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Great set of pictures. Looks like you guys were just plain having fun, even with the snow. It's sets like this, and allot of Julio's etc... that really make me want to get out and shoot.by egra099 - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Amazing shooting (shooter and gun). Doesn't get much better than that...by egra099 - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks Kent. That's the buck I ended up getting last season. I've never worked that hard for a deer in my life, I was out 50 something days straight before I got my shot. We got a great rain a couple of days ago. Our gauge holds six inches and it was over flowing. To give you an idea of how big that was for us, that's more than the TOTAL we had received in the previous twelve months.by egra099 - The Picture Gallery
Manna from Heaven Gary. You don't want to mess around with that kind of sign.by egra099 - The Picture Gallery
Better get on it. While you're at it why not a .50 so you can use cheap, easily available round balls, a .32 or so for mid-size game, and a rifled insert as big as you can go because obviously that smooth bore stuff is just for shot and plinking. We need accuracy! Of course you're going to need to work up moulds etc for all of those also. You did say you loved doing cased sets, right??by egra099 - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
It sure does. The way things are going down here they're all just going to die of thirst anyway. Only one of those bucks was shot last year, the guy with all of the trash coming out from every where. I swear I saw a tag on one of the big tens with a G.L.B. on it....by egra099 - The Picture Gallery
I could be mistaken ,but if remember correctly , .62 caliber is exactly what a 20 gauge comes out too... 20 gauge shot cup, half ounce of shot or so, and an over wad? The grackles out back are flying for cover just thinking about it.by egra099 - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I told Gary I would post some pictures off our place and thought a few of you might be interested too. These are all bucks from last year, I just got my cameras back out today and can't wait to see how things are looking. It really is like Christmas every time.by egra099 - The Picture Gallery
Good God that is one beautiful gun. My jaw was apparently hanging down so far while looking through this post that my wife asked me if the site I was on was full nude, or just scantily clad. I'm sure sorry about the chronic pain issues. As I've said before, I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy. People who have not experienced it just don't usually get it. The general thought seems to be thatby egra099 - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
That is one beautiful piece. I've never been able, or willing, to pick a favorite out of your work, but this one has to be right at the top. Both from an artistic, and engineering point of view. Every time I see one of your new models for the first time, I feel like a five year old again, opening my first Red Rider on Christmas morning. Just that same sense of awe and wonderment.by egra099 - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jerry, Believe it or not my daughter was in the blind with me the evening I got that buck. With a recurve at 12 yards! I had first seen this buck in October and hunted him hard ( I went out every day, 31 days straight). To make a long story short, I had him within bow range several times but things just never came together. Fast forward to a couple of days after Thanksgiving and we had just gottby egra099 - AR Classifieds
Alright, this is my last hoorah. How about a 150+ class whitetail. Anyone? This would be on our other place (about thirty minutes from the ranch with exotics). I do one or two commercial hunts on this place a year, and they start at $3,500.00 and go up from there. Again, for the right gun I'm willing to do an even trade. This ranch is 1500 acres and you can have any mature deer on the place andby egra099 - AR Classifieds
I've got a taxidermist that is pretty well on salary these days anyway. I imagine I could loan him too you long enough to get an animal or two done. As far as a place too put them, you seem to have too much free time on your hands anyway, a new game room would make a good project for all of those evenings and weekends you've been spending on the porch. Easier than that, I'm pretty sure I saw abouby egra099 - AR Classifieds
I have a ranch in TX with large numbers of Axis deer and Blackbuck antelope, along with wild hogs. This is not a gamefenced place, these are decendents of animals that were released in the forties and are all free roaming. I am looking to trade a hunt for a bigbore, I'll consider any guns except for the Koreans (make it one of Gary's and I'll give you hunts for a decade ).
