Can you appreciate the skills, effort, history, experience... (pick two) ... that goes into this work. The whole thing begins as an idea. Then, it helps if you can draw. If you can draw a woman. If you can draw a woman in appealing scale (and scales yuck yuck). Then ... just transfer that over into carving a 3D negative rendition into Tool Steel. Then know how to heat treat it so it won’t crumbke like a bread stick. Knowing how the Die is going to fill under hydraulic pressure. How the metal will flow.

I realize it’s me that’s writing the glowing report, but this simply isn’t easy. And I’d be satisfied to guess that there are not a heck of a lot of people who can do this, for any price.

Hope you enjoy seeing it.

Thanks,
Gary

Gary,

Nice work. One of the best to date IMO even though she is too young for me.Help!

The scene appeals to me and the textures of the scene components look perfect.

Hi Gary,
Here's Misty accessorizing my Kayak hat.
KentBOB.jpg

The hat has worn out but Misty has been transferred to my new hat. She still sports the inscription of the "Cape San Blas 2016" trip on back.

Always get lots of complements on my mermaid hat and my Barnes kayak cuff.

As you know, I've been gifting your designs as commemorative jewelry for trips, races and family events. The recipients wear them as treasures that spark tales of races run and life's great adventures. Sure beats a generic medal or framed picture sitting on a shelf. An Octopus on a necklace with a race detail inscribed, starts a weekend of stories when noticed by a dinner guest.

That did me more good then a long vacation Kent. It sure is music to hear of my work finding a home in someone’s experiences and memories.

I really appreciate you sharing those thoughts and pics.

I’ll read that dozens of times.

Thank You
Gary

Very nice work Gary
Howdy Kent
Good job and choice of awards. I’m ready for some kayak weather up here in Michigan. Global cooling has settled in up North!

Thanks
Kurt

You all need to see and read this whole thread again.

This was the high point of 2019 so far, for me.
