I've never really done a HOLIDAY post on a forum B4. So what better time and pics, then to show off some BBQ that i made for the 4th of JULY, 2010

Enjoy guys.............i sure did. Some of the most tender ribs i've ever made.

I woke up at 6:30 am and started the fire. I went with RED OAK wood this year. Grabbed a few Andouille Sausages and a pack full of beef weiners and let them smoke for a while. After they were done, i put on my slab of ribs. Ribs were seasoned with a California favorite seasoning made by the folks up north in SANTA MARIA. Let the Ribs smoke for some hours on about 250 degrees:

Patiently waited for that magical BONE TO SHOW and i would be happy. Needless to say....I WAS HAPPY:


After cutting all the meat up, here was the outcome:


Then wife had already started making her FAMOUS hand made apple pie (my favorite. No, not her, the PIE..LOL):

Then i began to cook some spiral pasta and when it was done, she used it to make a bowl of pasta salad:


We also had corn on the cob, but hey, it's just corn so it doesn't deserve a spot in this post....lol:

Then, right before all was done and the food was ready to be put on a plate, the wife decided to make her famous, RED, WHITE and BLUE daquiries (she's such a show off):

But yeah, i was gonna originally label this post, "my other hobby".

I've been cooking since i was 9yrs old and once considered being a chef when i was in my 20's. But that idea did not go far. So i just kept all my good cooking skills to myself. Cooking is one of my many hobbies that i thoroughly enjoy. Heck, i love to eat, i'm from Texas, so cooking just goes hand in hand with me........

Hey - give me a break. I'm old and feeble ...

We should just turn this into a cooking forum. Between Kent, Sean, and yourself ... you guys need your own page. haha. Mighty find looking grub there. Darned shame you are all too far away. Stuff would be cold time it got here. haha.
