OK, so I was finally able to dump my ancient Palm Pre phone when they finally made the iPhone available on Sprint. I found it waiting for me here last night, after getting back from New Windsor. Its big "new feature" is Siri, the voice recognition "personal assistant." You simply push the button and tell it what you want it to do, or ask it a question.

So, how is this airgun-related?

Me (speaking to Siri): "What is 500 grains at 700 feet per second in foot-pounds?"

Siri (speaking to me): "Checking on that for you . . ."

Siri (speaking to me): "OK, here you go:" (presents data on screen: formula used to calculate, and then "Result: 543.9 foot pounds-force," along with joules and five other units of measure)

The whole exchange takes only a few seconds. You can also do any type of unit conversion: psi to bar, etc. You have to enunciate clearly, or Siri gets confused: e.g., "500 greens." But it you speak clearly, it's pretty accurate.

It is just the start of what this type of technology will facilitate, but sure is neat. I'm sure that others will think of much cooler, more powerful stuff to do with this technology.

id nearly down grade my samsung to an i phone just for the case
google it , they are tougk looking ,,,, and stainless ,,,,mmmmmmmmm
