What you making? Looks very much like something to lessen the blast noise?

Pedro,

Yes, its a shroud, my second attempt. The first prototype I made was quite effective, we'll see what this does. Even if it isn't quieter, it's much better looking than the first one.chainsaw

Looks like nice work. I thought perhaps you were being cryptic. I was providing cover. winking smiley

How have you chosen to retain your insert within it's shroud tube?

Gary,

Set screws will hold the parts in place. I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to configure them but I don't have any time to hobby for a few days so I'll think about it.

I need to make two more parts, a rear bushing/end piece and a fluted muzzle bushing. I bought the rotary table for projects like the fluted bushing so I'm looking forward to trying it. You may remember the other shroud I posted a link to, it had similar parts. Naturally I can't find them on my PC right now.brick wall

I thought it was a thread bobbin for a loom. I wondered why it needed vent holes .... grinning smiley

C'mon Gary! You need the vent hole to put the thread in so you can get the first few wraps on without it all coming loose!
