Guess who got their camera back?

Yup, it's me; good guess. eye rolling smiley

I've got to give Kudos to Casio service. I had not heard anything since I sent the camera in for repair and was starting to get nervous. I thought I'd wait untill 2 weeks had past, per the indicated repair time but today the camera was waiting at the doorstep. One week to complete repairs and ship it back. I can't complain about that.

When the camera broke there were some fresh pictures on it that I was about to share. Turns out, my computer won't read the card directly. Now that the camera is back I can post these.

That is the ballistic gel I prepared. I made 4 batches of the stuff. It's a pain to make. It has to be disolved carefully which entails spending a solid 30 minutes at least stirring the gelatine into a very saturated solution, waiting for it to jell in the fridge, re-melting it at very low heat and then pouring it into a prepared mold for final forming. Oh, it smells bad too. On top of that: there's about $46 worth of gelatine there. I expect there won't be anymore of this stuff made around here! I hope some of it survives the test runs I have planned as it should remelt for another use but that remains to be seen.

That's a block of the stuff outside the mold.

I thought you might want to get an idea of how firm this stuff is, so I put a bunch of lead on top so you could see. This is not jello without the flavor! This is jello on steroids! Supposedly, this stuff, when shot gives an accurate representation of how far the projectile would have penetrated into flesh.

Here's a couple other pictures I had on the card: I won't be buying any more of these either!

Ok, It's very thick Jello without the flavor.google eyes If you add some pineapple and banana slices it would go over great at the Senior Center.!!

Seriously I'm thrilled to here you're back in the video biz. I can't wait to see the Jello get what's coming to it. shooter with bench rifle

Is that a 1970 with the Olds Rocket 350? Just a guess, had a 1972 but cancer from the road salt in Indiana eventually ate it. Yea I was poor and had to actually use it to get to class, work etc. Lots of fun with all the power and no weight over the rear wheels in the snow. Had to keep the gas tank full or you got nowhere.

Well Kent, the jello is going to get it for sure!

The car is indeed a 1970 Olds but the Rocket 350 is long gone. The only part of that that survives is the air cleaner cover which hangs on my garage wall. A 502 Ram Jet has taken it's place and added just that little extra umph that the car required! Happiness is turning 305mm of Nitto Drag Radial into smoke! When I'm not shooting that is..whistling
factory color

VERY pretty car there.

Not quite a factory color, is it? cooler

I used to occasionally drive my great-aunts's Delta 88 with the 455. She kept snow tires on it year-round (in Albuquerque, NM, no lesseye rolling smiley) so you had to be very careful with the throttle if you didn't want to smoke 'em. I'm not sure how she ended up with such a huge engined car, but I doubt she ever moved the gas pedal more than a quarter inch the whole time she owned it!

Mmmmmmmmm, big V8 !!
Fantastic looking car dude cool smiley
DON'T TRY ANY CORNERS!!!!

As an Englishman, I reserve the right to mock the handling of your cars!! (gets back in his 1.6 litre sewing machine looking smug!)

You guys can put a man on the moon, fly aircraft at hypersonic speeds, make the most awesome sounding and performing engines, but ya' just don't make 'em go round corners??!!
Whats with that? Mr Shelby knew how to do it, but it never seems to be a big issue with the masses over there?
Even racing dosn't involve much cornering!

Please educate me more confused

PS, Its usually posts like this that get me in trouble, so please, no offense meant, just curious and having a little fun as well spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Paul,
You were right about the cornering but not anymore. The huge engine was not the only change to the car. The entire suspension has been replaced and the car sticks in corners pretty darn good. Not like a Lotus mind you but not bad at all.

Fantastic looks AND performance...
Best of both worlds! I suggest you ship her over here so I can test it on our demanding B road contry lanessmoking smiley
Is it auto or manual?

It has an automatic that was built to handle drag racing stress from high horsepower engines. It can be shifted manually like some of the newer cars can where the transmission actually responds to the gear selection. I usually just let it go auto though. It has a decent overdrive too.

I'll ship her over as soon as the Vantage loaner appears here! smileys with beer

Hope you got a chance to shoot something ... with your repaired camera that is!

Nice warm day here. Overcast, but very mild. Terrible day to be crabbing around panting with back pain. Haven't been worth a nickel. Pain specialist appt. in the am. Something worked right! I already had this appt. when my back checked out a few days ago. thumbs up

Been quiet here ... so folks might have been able to get out and enjoy the weather. Hope so.
