Things are starting to fit.

We think we broke thru the "bone tired barrier" and seem ready for the final push. Keep a good thought for us please.

It's "encrypted" Lon. Break out your Barnes Pneumatic Decoder ... And be sure to Drink your Ovaltine. winking smiley

It means it's something dark o'clock Sunday night - I think. Today I've done carpentry, electrical, made a run for a bunch of materials at Lowes, and finished with a couple of hours of plastering. I have not quit - and we are closer to staging rooms as we finish them - then handing the keys to the realtor and our peeps here. Never know what a day will bring. There's no schedule card.

A few things are "pending" that could actually help us ... but we are a bit too "experienced" to expect they will work out. We'll see.

Moving forward. Hard to make that sound fresh and exciting at this stage. This whole project and process as been quite near the top of the lifetime stress list. When the house I was renting in 1980 burned down with my shop in the basement (owner accidently set it while I was away at a knife show) ... That was a good 10 steps "below" this stress level. So; we're starting to just feel the occasional fresh breeze from the coast ahead. A friendly group of head hunters told us it was this direction! winking smiley.

A few folks still stay in touch. We appreciate it.

So I figured I'd just post a few words.

thumbs up

Thank you guys.

I know you've said it all before too. It's just an endurance test now. How long can Gary stay on his feet. It can easily be portrayed as stupid and stubborn. But what is the alternative? Toss the house in the heap - try to sell it with a dozen major issues obvious? Take such a huge hit on market price that it effects our future? And so; we've closed it to where there are only one or two bigger issues. The darned place needs a new roof. It's just never worked to find a contractor. Now it's just too darned expensive and too late in the game. I've maintained it so that it doesn't leak .... ............ much. But realtors and buyers want to hear one word .... NEW. And so ... That's a biggie we take a big hit on. But you don't add that to crumbling mortar, sagging porch, insufficient electric, rotten timbers, wet basement, incomplete this and that ......

So: I've worn a bit of skin off getting that list down to just the roof thing. The rest are mostly taken care of.

Bla bla blah bla, blah .... I know, I know. It's been endless. Whichever ones of you who suggested, over the last five years; that I needed to MOVE ..... I've got your names on a seperate list .... Hahaha.

And the end of Maryland is near, with a new beginning soon in the future. Kelly and yourself will have a fresh new start with a different location that will be more interesting and prosperous.

Several more things crossed off the list.

Realtors on deck.

Last trailer being slowly loaded as we work.

Drs. Appt with Specialist yesterday. Went well.

Took truck in to diagnose intermittent Engine light.

BTW ... We have gone thru the process of choosing and then being accepted as a patient of a new Specialist Pain Dr. in Florida.

More specific materials from Lowes.

Closer.

Gary

Third floor utility room. Sealed three areas with foam board and spray foam where pipes entered the crawl spaces. Found a small weeping plumbing joint ... Phew .... lucky find. I turned off the water while Kelly found THE exact CPVC 1/2" 90 degree elbow we needed. stunned. Darned if I know. I cut out the bad and replaced the joint. That would have been fun if it let go when we were away.

Made two more pine doors and attached.

More off the list.

Our perps at BPS tell us we are still getting gully washer rains there. They sent a couple fuzzy pics of the grass growing out back - with errosion paths in it. But the main area is getting covered with grass and a root mass so that will help. We asked for a couple of snap shots of the great water diversion project. They say its working but no more info! Good grief! Details ... We need details. Haha.

Hi Sean,

DURING! We can sell advertising .... " we got 'yer "Slimey Slim" jelly worm, right cher!!"

Hey, I just noticed how my spell check helped me out and changed "my peeps at BPS into PERPS" ... And, after all the reads on this thread - nobody played off of it. A sad commentary on the state of the forum these days ....

Thanks for the comments Sean! Gee - if you didn't have a Barnes already ... I'd give you one just for posting! winking smiley

The only "peeps" I've got are the ones leftover from Easter, and they get all stiff and crunchy when they get stale.

If you are keeping up -

We cleared out the rest of the stuff from the storage warehouse in Taneytown. Yeah.

Stucco is drying. Just a bit more there to do.

Some of the furniture sold was picked up. A couple of more things are scheduled to pick up. The rest will be used to stage the house. Furniture monkey on our back solved.

A bunch of wall space is now ready to spray paint.

We've planned so the remaining projects are getting smaller all the time. Therefore; as we have gotten a bit more tired - it should become easier to get a feeling of success as we cross off items.
