The carving of the 25 Appaloosa SS stock is complete. Yeah!!!

Since the carving exposes alot of end grain, I give it preliminary application of stock oil. If I then want to go in and tweak something, I'll do that prior to finish sanding the entire stock.

Hope you like it.

I think it turned out nice. I hope the owner will really enjoy using it. Hope we see it mellow, and develop a rich glow over time.

Glad you like it. I'll go in and "refine" the background. The final "look" is subject to many different subtle details.

Gorgeous work Gary!!!

I'm sure the future owner will love it. It really shows why Barnes' craftsmanship is truly unique.

I hope the lucky owner understands that in order to gain the full rich patina it needs to be exposed to sunlight, rubbed gently with the hand and cheek followed by occasional camera flash. Of course the group will need to monitor the progress of the process to ensure proper conditioning.winking smiley
