Journey to the Center of the Earth?



No .... Just finishing up the basement staircase.



Since you saw it, I've repaired and plastered, blended, scraped, sanded, and painted.



Just have to reattach an electric line, when the steps dry. You recall that this corner required a new concrete base, the stabilization of the foundation's stone walls, a stucco and steel mesh bond, fabrication of the winding portion of the staircase, trenching and waterproofing outside, and now cosmetic work inside. Glad a few of these simple jobs are done.



Kelly has been right there working and supporting every step and decision. God Bless her. I've about gone nutz a few times and her support was a Godsend. This move has been a massive undertaking. You do a couple of things like this in a lifetime. You hope never more. Somebody to stick with you is an amazing thing.

This is one more leap toward home.

Note two pics of the same area. One - after tearing out the old stairs; removing the old plaster, lathe, and previous owner's fixes. Down deep where you have to go to find the root cause ... it didn't look pretty. Now it's 100% restored, and appears to be corrected.
