I like this a lot. Feels solid. Not heavy. Looks Rugged.
Now, it's far more work. Many things you would not think about. For instance, the outer overlay is an arc of a larger circle then the band. So, holes drilled for rivets must be along sector lines (or - spacing of outer holes is longer then inner). Also, you can't assemble when straight. See previous Hole discussion. Also, you can't rivet once it's bent. Can't get hammer inside cuff. Also, rivet head must be blended and edges smoothed, so as not to snag clothes.

image.jpeg

When you polish rivets to smooth, you polish the surrounding metal too. This removes oxide. So; oxide must be redeveloped after riveting and blending/polishing. Also, if you want faceted rivet heads, you can't lay their head/face on an anvil and hit the other end. The blow will transfer thru the rivet and smash the decorative head.

Those are just a few of the things that must be overcome. I figured it all out. But, it takes more steps, patience, time.

This is a quality piece you could wear with fine clothing, should you desire. Or, sport it with an old blue Cotten Twill. thumbs up

Just realized it's not visible in these pics. However; the band is textured, as well. Note the plate features a pebbled texture, while the band is the "Waves" pattern shown on several other aluminum bands. They work well together.

My wrist and forearm are taking note that they aren't used to forging this much. There are quite a few strikes with a 4 pound cross pean to texture a band! I'll have to bulk up. Ha.

Note to self. Raking setting sun amplifies shop stains, old skin, and hair. Sitting here now in a normally lit room, I look mostly human. Pic looks more like a display of Early Man discovering shiny things ...
