Hello Julio,

Thanks. Yes it is the first 62 barrel at BPS! New tooling too.

Boy, there a lot of things to remember, find, and re-study, before each new thing I do here. It's a challange to put the entire set together again with each new phase.

The barrels are going well. I'm pleased with the process and the work. I'm making steady progress.

Thanks Julio,
Gary

Nice work Gary!
I like the colors in the photo too. I'm sure it feels good to get that done.

Hi Matt,

Interesting that you caught that. All Barnes Barrels are left hand twist! thumbs up.

I'll put up some pics from today. Those barrels do their job.

Yeah - the 62's usually run from 600 foot pounds to around 850 foot pounds.

Good catch Matt
I learn something every time I come to the rendezvous. I didn't know that all Barnes barrels were lefty's .
That still is an awfully cool pic .
Gary is there any special reason for the twist ? I have fletched a lot of my own arrows and there are any number of variations you can do . But I cant really tell any difference.
I would probably need a slow mo camera to see the effects .

Thanks
Kurt

Hi Kurt,

Different Alloys. Different calibers. Different projectile designs.

Right now, I have 45 different rifling buttons. About a dozen different timing/twist rate tooling.

The holes in the target are the final Judge. Haha.

I started making left hand twist barrels before I read the experts. Haha. Gee, who knew. Seems to work so I've made it a signature feature.

Thanks Kurt!
