Just an update, since a few of you try to stay in touch, and ask regarding my health. I was at the pain specialist this morning. Things have been complicated again recently. Painful days, severe pain in the evenings. Less effective meds. I know ... it's more popular to report improvement. However; the Dr. scheduled a new MRI to see the current extent of the damage to my spinal column. We kicked around the meds. For the first time, he talked about Surgeons. And, he immediately agreed that many surgeries do not go very well. He agreed that those poor surgeries provide lots and lots of chronic pain patients, for chronic pain clinics. I've heard that from both of my pain Docs.

So; sure ... I'm bummed.

Let's see ... in the shop, it's a regular Bi-sonaploosah! Intent upon getting a bunch of parts ready for a bluing session, asap. Keeping all the plates spinning. (Some of you are old enough to remember the Ed Sullivan show ... I didn't know then, that the plate spinning was training for later!!) haha.

OK ... onward.
Gary

Gary,

Sorry to hear the pain is acting up. I hope they come up with some better options to help control it.

I was thinking about the Bisons. They look like a more complicated/intricate build compared to some other models. I suspect it will be a relief when this current batch goes out the door. That should help cheer things up!

I have the same problem, which damage to my spinal column. I do not know your age, but I am 33 years old. I had this problem from fifteen years old.I have one or two times in one years and it comes ready after one or two weeks, I think, never you prefer to Surgeons operation. it is not solution for us. because after 5-10 years, its comes back. I beleive that, the good solution is exercies, about running and swiming everyday or each two days.

thanks

Yes Gary, The solution is running and exercise! Would you please start the camera and call clear? rolling happy smiley

Sorry to everyone else, Gary knows exactly the joke I'm sharing...

Guess I should explain. All the videos we enjoy, require that the camera be tripped ... and then, whomever tripped the camera ... needs to shuffle out of the way ... sometime before a bullet arrives in the vicinity. excited We make certain "whomever" tripped the camera gets well away, and shouts "clear" when they arrive at a safe location.

I know, I know ... I can hear the suggestions. And, I can tell you, Jerry seems to feel he's spent enough on cameras and equipment for everyone's amusement. In fact; I've heard carefully worded dialog that seemed to indicate, that they may have made more than one of these cameras. Hummmm. winking smiley

Awww Gary, you spilled the beans! laughing again

Now just to make sure I don't have a squad of enforcers show up at my door to make sure I never make Gary run again; I promise to let Gary do all the shooting and I'll run the camera. more innocent

I wonder if anyone is shooting this weekend? Great weather here.

I think "shuffle" was the more accurate term.

Oh no! Just before your energy gave out, you were getting into it and moving with great velocity. I thought I might have to get you some of those fancy gold sneakers the Olympic runners use! laughing again

Sorry to hear about your chronic pain woes continuing. I can identify with it to some extent, as my wife Julie, at the tender age of 45, has progressive MS and part of the condition, for her at least, is substantial pain in her hands and arms on an ongoing basis. It would be nice to wave a magic wand and somehow stop it all! Hope you can keep it under control.
Cheers

Hello Neil,

Thank you very much.

I wish Julie the very best. Keep in the back of your mind ... substantial pain in the hands and arms ... keep an eye on the condition of the cervical discs. My whole nightmare started out with that sort of pain, from degenerated cervical discs.

My best to you both,

Gary

OK ... I had the MRI early this morning. I asked the technician afterwards ... "So - is it a mess in there?" She twisted up her face, sort of sucked air thru her teeth, and said, "It doesn't look too good back there". Sort of the way you'd describe a deer that had struck and dragged under a truck. whistling So, the Radiologist will compare the earlier with current conditions. The technician, who looks at this stuff all day every day ... agreed with my two pain specialist Docs. Avoid surgery at all costs. She said it's about a 50/50 chance of improvement. It can help about half of the people - never helps the rest - and can make it worse. With my luck? Yeah ... tongue sticking out smiley

With the pain meds, most days are workable. It's not like ... every once in awhile ... it's uncomfortable. It always hurts. Hurts more as the day wears on. Hurts quite alot in the evening. We continually monitor the meds, and alter the schedule. Add in the epidural injections at the allowed frequency. Grit my teeth for the rest. Best we can do.

Next apt. in about a week, to discuss the results from today's MRI. Even I can easily see the severe deformity of the four lumbar discs, and the resulting pinched nerve canal. Should be a fun meeting! drinking smiley

Let's hope that the next doc can avoid using terms such as "roadkill" when describing your spine. Hey, those doctor guys spend years and years in school, they're SUPPOSED to know all the five-dollar words. grinning smiley

Yeah ... but ya know ... insurance will only cover the words to "two dollars fifty". So ... they've had to adapt. winking smiley
