I've dipped into my carefully wrapped parts. I'm assembling a .308" Hawk for Robert Gillstrom.

Nice work the parts look great ,have a good finish! Are the steel parts blued or is it a black oxide finish? Always nice when you get to the final assembly.

Hi Matt,

Yes. Parts are blued. They were blued prior to tearing down the old bluing room. We're carefully packed. I nervous whenever I open a package that the finish is good. These were. So far.

I have had to add a valve to the set. I've been working on that. And the stock is real nice, but not finished. It's a very nice rifle.

Going to try out my bow in perry Florida. Scott Mattieson is a friend of the family and has 600 plus acre's.

Hi Don,

That should be quite an adventure. That's a lot of acreage to hunt. Do you use ATVs or Swamp Buggies?

Tell us about your bow. Knowing you love martial arts, I'd expect you to shoot a 100 pound bamboo bow! Smile. winking smiley

It is an Excalibur crossbow. If anyone is interested, he is selling 57 acre,s with a small hunting cabin in Madison.
