Snapshots!

Hi Guys.

Here are a bunch of snapshots from the work over the Holiday and last few.

If I did them right, you will see the rifle, holding air. It's freshly made firing valve with all parts - in place and functional.

There are a few knives which are part of people's ledger accounts - along with a few extra parts. I had to do a pretty thorough readjustment of my main band saw. I had made some new blades, so I took some time to use it and prepare a group of parts.

It's always a nice feeling to select out a custom made mill cutter I might have made a decade or more ago. Find it ready to do its one purpose in life. Most were engraved and dated they are as valid a collectible of my work, as the items they made possible. If possible, I have always made purpose designed cutters to make tasks more precise and/or effecient. It's neat to take down a cutter which I made and heat treated, and then cut tool steel with it.

Hey, is that a Shrimp? What is it and it's young one, doing in my tractor shed. A month ago I brought back some cut offs from a family pool deck project my daughterinlaw's father did. He lives by a lake. But, that's as close as I can come to how these critters got in my tractor shed. I took them to water.

And .... In was my GRANDdaughter's 23rd birthday!!!!! You think YOU feel old ......!!!

Well, there are some snapshots. I hope you enjoy them! thumbs up

Best,
Gary

Gary,

Pretty eclectic group of pictures. The gun is coming along nicely, beautiful engraving for sure. I don't know but with your luck, should you really be keeping a black cat? Just sayin. LOL!

Hi Karl,

Everything I do according to traditional values blows up in my face. So: there are actually two black cats ca slightly smaller one appears occasionally. And .... I'm sleeping under a ladder now .... Haha.

Gary,

Great stuff I love to see it ...

That is a stick insect they are cool and harmless.. They are a sought after food by many of the creatures around you (even the cats) that is why they are moving so slow and wearing their best camo. ha ha ..

Love the tree stump bet it is wild at twilight.

Be safe,

Larry

Hi Larry,

I'm familiar with some Stick Bugs, but haven't seen one before with this segmented shrimp body. This has the cluster of long fibers gathered affront of its head - like a shrimp. Odd.

Jeff,

One of the things I did today. Here is your utility camping/pack sheath for the serrated knife. Hope you find it suitable. thumbs up

We are preparing a few shipment packages.

Tomorrow is an appointment with one of my Specialists to begin the Goose Chase as to the cause of my extreme chronic neck pain. You recall my neck has two replaced discs, titanium plates and screws. Hopefully, I don't literally have loose screws. The clicking and grinding sounds I hear internally, the horrible pain, and the chronic swollen neck .... doesn't seem like the start of a great adventure. Huh? Ha. thumbs up. Lead on .... I'll be along ....

Hey Gary,
I'm so sorry about the neck and all. I know how that sucks! I hope your med exams lead to an early and simple resolution. I have been working to much, so thanks for the heads up on the sheath. It is absolutely perfect for what I envisioned and envision for the use of that knife. It is beautiful! I have read through the other new topics and just held my comments to one as I have to run out the door (again). The variety of work that you do is amazing. Please feel better and take the time you need to heal properly!!!
Thanks much and sincerely,
Jeff

Thanks Kurt! I just happened to notice that knife (again) in a picture and could not find a thread where it had been sold. I HAD TO SAVE IT FROM KELLY'S KITCHEN angry with "no" sign. It NEEDS to be an outdoors knife!

Hi Jeff,

It's sibling is in Kelly's Kitchen. It's my favorite to reach for. There is nothing on earth that will bisect a grape tomato as slick as this knife.

Great for cooking! Not worth a dern for carving wooden Cowboys. Don't ask me how I know .....

Thanks Jeff!!

Gary,

What caliber is that rifle going to be? It looks like a .25 - .30.

Hi Keith,

His is a .308

I have more Grey Fox stuff coming up soon. Have a bunch of barrels. Going to be machining the group of main firing valve sections. Will be a lot of boring, teaming, threading.

Nice progress on a number of great projects. I've bought the handbook on carving wood spirits but have yet to begin carving my Opinel knife handle. Maybe I should start with a tree stump and a chainsaw?chainsaw

Glad you are making chips fly!

Thanks Kent.

You could carve with the chainsaw - but if suggest against hand holding the work. stunned

Hope you have fun with it. Razor sharp tools are the key to carving. Dull tools require force to cut - that's when things slip. thumbs up
