Everything you ever wanted to know, but were afraid to ask!

It takes a lot of co-operation and listening to do things right.

But first - I know you want to see airguns. Me too. I won't backtrack here.

I saw one of my Specialists yesterday. Or, the Highly Trained Lady qualified to take Appts. I don't know her letters post name. I like her. She's thorough.

I reported that the neck injections had not helped. My neck remains extremely painful. It's also quite noisy with the cracking and grinding and popping. That mechanical sounding mess causes fatigue, pain, and headaches.

She offered that I'd had a double cervical fusion long ago. As is the pattern, the joint above fusions take the load. Mine is in the process of failing. The bone spurs that have developed are causing the noise and pain. We have tried an injection to reduce internal swelling. That failed. We CAN try a nerve block. A chemical deadening of the nerves suspected of being involved in the pain. IF that helped, then they could use some sort of radio frequency to burn those nerves and kill them. She said they'd regenerate, so repeat.

I began to ask a few questions. She assumed I hadn't understood. She began to repeat the previous paragraph ....

I said that I had understood and quietly finished the paragraph. She said, "Exactly - or something to that affect."

I followed that I was somewhat concerned about these nerves which she discussed numbing and then killing. I said that process would assume that those nerves did not do anything vital. I wanted to know what said nerves were attached to.

"Well they exit the spinal cord and then branch out."

I expressed that this whole mess with my neck had developed 2000-2001 because I was loosing the sensation in my fingers. I was very concerned as to if these nerves we discussed might have any effect on my hands and fingers.

"Well, yes - they do. They go down the arms and feed the fingers."

stunned

Well ...... THAT's not good. I'm an "Engraver".

"Yes, well it's pain or no pain. If you can live with it, then ....."

And so, I directed attention to this twisted rope/knot of something that lives on the back left side of my neck. "This is always here, always painful, and the relentless pain causes headaches." I ask - "could this get a shot of cortisone?" I invited her to examine the area. After which she agreed. And an appointment is set.

I got some powerful ointment for that as well. I've used barrels of BenGay and lidocaine rub. We shall see how this does.

Summary:

I want to see my airguns too. I'm working back to that. You know why the knives are important. And, I believe you'd make a few too. winking smiley.

The Drs. Appointments and Proceedures will take as long as they take. I really appreciate their professional help, and I take the time to ask the questions and understand the answers. That can be a bit new to Drs. How many people have you asked, after an axam; what the Dr. Said? And they say .... "Ah....... he gave me a pill".

Well, I ask. I stay with the Drs. Who take the few minutes extra to explain. And, most are shocked that I can repeat back what they just told me.

So; we will NOT be numbing, burning, radio wave zapping, or otherwise killing any nerves that feed my hands. Period. That will cause me a LOT of pain. For a long time to come.

It will be your part to try to understand that I hurt like hello, all of the time. It gets old. It gets hard to always be my patient/cheerful self. footinmouth. WHAT???

And so; we resume our program ....

I'll show you what I'm doing. It will be that which is judged, by myself and Management; to be the best opportunity to move the entire business forward, and keep it healthy. That will result in the best chance, that sometime ASAP, you will see your project on these pages.

Thank you for reading, once again.

It's hard to know what to do when they give you options . But IF you can trust your doc's it helps .
Years of abuse will take its toll and ain't much to do now .Moving to the office at work is always an option after giving your BEST years away .Some of us just are not wired to drive a desk . At least you ask the questions .
I will also keep you and your professional helpers in my thoughts and prayers .

Thanks
Kurt

Gary :

Not the news you wanted to hear I know. A long life of hard work takes a toll on the body. Even those of us who had more sedentary lives feel the effects of age. I know this from personal experience. Your friends here understand and are supportive. We are not going anywhere.

Imagine if medical tech and treatment of neck and back problems advanced at the same rate of phones, they would have a bionic option for you at this point. But then you would have to deal with neck iOS version, wifi and memory issues! I guess we can't have it all, not yet anyway. We are all pulling for you Gary, I hope there is some relief in the near future.
