This is a great NEW PRODUCT.

I was asked by two different clients, about a simple box in which to store knives in a safe. I'd had this in mind .... not the Safe Part .... the box part. I told each I'd make them a milled box. Here's one of them. The other isn't complete.

Enjoy!

I'll regret this: disclosure.... that knife doesn't fit that box. It's own box isn't quite finished. This Box is a whisker small inside. It's for the slightly smaller 97.

Then why didn't you use the proper knife?. "It's not assembled. It's an assemblage of finished parts ...."

Then why didn't you make the box fo........... "Just look at the pictures ....... why me

BTW .... The boxes are milled from solid 2" plank. take a bow

BTW ..... Here is the actual box for that knife. Needs a lid, etc.

Hi Lon, Kinda. It's a specially reground and specially sharpened mill cutter for the task. They never make what I think I need - and if they do its not sharp when you get it - or it binds, burns, etc. So, I either repurpose them or make one from scratch.

Glad you like it Keith! Thanks.

Hi Kurt,

The finished one is Walnut. The unfinished milled one is Mahogany. Looks pale here. It will look rich when complete. thumbs up

Thanks!

Hi Gary (and all),
I've been very busy. It will be awhile before everything is caught up. I was just about on an even keel, when kerplunk, things kind of unraveled here again. On top of everything the day after the storm hit my bank accounts were hacked. I have about got it sorted out, and even though we were lucky there has been a great deal of work to do. I have been watching the forum but have been to tired to respond. Those boxes are beautiful though and I had to! I'll be back again once I beat this smack down. You all have a great weekend!
Later,
Jeff

Well Jeff,

When you are face down in the mud ... Look for that last kick in the teeth.

That's a lousy shame. Sorry you had to deal with that.

Thanks for stopping by here, and commenting. thumbs up

Very sorry to hear bout your bank account issues . It's so common now a days . I think my mother had hers attacked twice and it was a ton of work getting back to normal and straightening out .
Hope you get past it quickly .

Thanks

Very nice Gary! The engraving on the lid is a really nice touch. When you mentioned you were making boxes for a few knives I did not imagine something so elegant.

I have been making some and laying the parts back. I'll show them as I can. The difference in appearance valve between raw wood and finished .... Is about 95% of $$$. If I show them now ..., it would be a bust, I fear.

Glad you like the idea Karl! I'll put you down for a few, and some more knives ..., and boxes for those too? Stop me if I'm wrong here .... Haha. laughing

Simple, but elegant. smiling smiley

Adds appeal as a gift being able to present a Barnes knife, with the Barnes wood box. smiling smiley

Engraved top cover is a nice touch.
