Kelly and I have needed a bit of time for a project of a very personal matter. Her Father died very recently and she asked me to build his Wooden Burial Urn. Her relationship with her Parents was so disconnected because of their (not Her) religious beliefs. So, it hasn’t been the normal “death of a parent” situation. In spite of that, Kelly wanted us to build his Urn for the Family. He will be buried with her Mother in a Veterans Cemetery in MD.

My deepest sympathy for your loss . The time building the urn will be a healing tool to help with his passing. Please take all the time required and I'll send up a prayer for your family.
When my father died It took a couple of long months to get his military grave marker . My little sister and myself spent a lot of time there directly after the burial mourning and she ask me to make a small marker till the arrival of his permanent marker . I welded his initials on a piece of stainless steel plate with some rods to anchor in place . For a couple of years the grass was always dead around the marker I made . It was both of us pouring hot coffee around the plate while we made our peace with him and talking it out !
