Here’s what SHARP does for you. That’s a BARNES machine bit made

7-2-97. It does a fabulous job.

Thank for reading!

Looks like that cutter mills really well! 97, that's only 22 years old.

I didn't know you had a CNC. smiling smiley I assume you are roughing out as much wood as possible before manually tackling the remaining profile?

Nice to see you are making progress and some neat tooling you use along the way.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Pedro,

Yeah ... CNC ... right. I don’t even know how to spell it.

That’s all cut by hand wheel control. You should see me as I direct the wood under the cutter around curves and even compound cuts. Both hands spinning, different directions and at different speeds. I look like an old lady shooing flies at a summer bake sale.

I am indeed establishing planes and removing bulk material. Then sanding starts. Ahhhhh ..... walnut dust .... smile

Thanks Pedro!

Very nice Gary
It's gotta be exciting getting so close to the finish line . The tool seems to be slicing out nice kerf/ chunks . The symmetry of the stock seems extremely difficult but as thorough as you are I'm sure you've logged down depths and such .

Thanks
Kurt

Hi Kurt,

Thanks for commenting. The Symetry is handled by witness marks, patterns (made about four yesterday), and by eye. I’m making this stock to be Ambidextrous. I don’t know who will be the owner. At one time I figured that IIRC 78% of my Clients thru the years had been left handed. So to speculate on this, I did not make it a dedicated Righty stock, but either Right or Left. Yes, it is a lot more work.

Thanks my friend,
Gary
