The Original Profile of the Barnes Mdl 97 Button Lock. A really fine piece of engineering. Locks Open and locks closed. Hammer Welded Damascus Blade ... Acid Etched by hand. Deep relief Carved Frame. Blue Mammoth Tusk Inlaid into the Frame. (Called Innerframe Design). It’s quite a particular process.

This is the “Full Mammo-Jamma”. wow

It’s progressing.

My challenges have been hanging up on me lately. Doesn’t help. It just adds more days to the build. Over a build like this, it adds quite a few days. Enough. Just to disclose it’s all still here.

Hope you are enjoying a pic every now and again.

Best
Gary

The parts are moving through the lists of processes.

And, there are quite a few of them.

Thanks for watching
Gary

I’ve been feeling improved to where I’m above the threshold for proper work. I inlaid the Mammoth. That’s a very careful operation. When you are working with 20,000 year old Tusk, you need to do it right the first time. Matching that oval insert to the milled socket is a skilled operation. Note the fit around the rim. When you begin cutting the ancient ivory, you know that “only perfect” will do.

It’s much closer but there are still quite a few things to do. The darned lingering brain fog is a nuisance. I spent half an hour last evening hunting for the Tool Steel locking button for this knife. (I found it in its special drawer of parts for this knife - I had put it away. knucklehead

If you see tiny things that need attention, I know they are there. I’ll get them. A project like this is next thing to eternal. But it’s coming together nicely.

I hope you are healthy. Stay safe.

God Bless,
Gary
