Assembly and tweak. Then finished.

These aren’t polished and need Bails. But you see the fine detail.

It’s too late to chase springs and buttons all over the shop tonight! I plan to install the button assembly tomorrow.

6 3/4” long open.
.602” thick (bit less than 5/8”)

I’m making a nice set of sterling Escutcheon plates for the sides right now.
