Gary, Its amazing how much effort goes into creating the proper slug for a specific rifle. It's really amazing. With modern firearms, you just pick up several boxes of ammo and see which works the best. This is on a whole different level. Makes you think of what rifle shooting was all about before the age of modern firearms when every rifle was hand made and unique. I can't wait to try thby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Do you keep bore slugs for all the rifles you make? Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, There are many things I would not attempt to service because I lack the understanding of the technology. HP air is one, Thats not to say I could not learn, but I would need more tools (which is not a bad thing) and somebody elses stuff to practice with. I'll send mine in, or better yet, I'll bring it in when work needs to get done. Now if you need to replace a screen or battery on anby Keith - Gary's Galleries
Humm, I think an extra barrel in .58 would work just fine on my rifle. Gary, what do you think? Keithby Keith - Gary's Galleries
Jerry, Good to know. I've been looking for a set for weeks now and have been unable to find an extra high set. I will keep looking now that I have an idea of the brand. Thanks, Keithby Keith - Gary's Galleries
Gary, Looks nice. I can't wait to see the completed project. BTW - What is the cut out on the butt for? Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Now I want some of those. Are they .465 or .464? Shooting the card would make a great movie. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Roose, I have a Drozd and its a blast to shoot. It's more steel then you think, sort of heavy for its size and not too noisy, but it puts BBs down range fast. It eats up CO2 fast so you only get about two loads of the mag before it needs a new cartridge, but its fun. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jerry, I would agree, but I'm not sure how far I can push the presure. I was filling to 3200 psi and I'm not sure I want to push it too far beyound that. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I like the way you rounded the receiver and the leaf engraving. Someone is going to be very happy. BTW - Where did you get the Rendezvous's scope mounts? I've been looking for a new set to raise the elevation of the scope on mine and can not find them. Keithby Keith - Gary's Galleries
Gary, We shot the Bishops and K8's when I picked up the rifle. The Bishopd performed well and so did the K8's, but we were on a feed from the tank and we never tested on single fills. The K4s and K6s I shot at the range purformed well, but the followon shot was far different between the two. The 2d shot with the K4 was close to the first, but the K6 had a noticable drop. So now I need to tby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jerry, Now that would be something to watch. BTW - order sent. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Well, everyone wants to play with dad's new toy and that's half the fun. I did not bother resighting the scope because it did not matter where it was hitting as long as it was on paper (able to put more lead down range in shorter time period). It was off after the baggage handlers banged it around during my return trip, but it was on paper. Since everyone shot the same, I knew it wasby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jerry, Will do. I'll put the order in today. I was running between 3100 and 3200 psi. Most charges were at the 3200 range. I did notice when a fourth shot was taken it would be around 600 fps and the valve would stay open, so I know what the low limit is. The rifle is great for a hunter where 1 or 2 shots are all that are needed, but its good to know I can push it to four shots before Iby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
My wife Alice loves to shoot and she is a good shot too. All those years in the military. She can even handle the Sharps 45-70. Its great when I want to add to my collection, but pain when we share a spot on the range (well, not really). She shoots and I spot. The last trip to the range we took out my son's .22 lever action and she put two rounds in the 10 ring on three targets at 50 yards (by Keith - The Target Trophy Lodge
Gary, Now that would be a picture to see, the zippy little RC car meets the 300gr slug at 800fps. Belated Merry Christmas to all. I have not turned on my computer since Wendsday, and will try to minimize its use this following week as well. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Also, for those who are wondering. The cardboard you see on end in the range picture is for brass deflection. For some reason a lot of people were shooting assult weapons. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
All, The range was a pain in the %$s. At least I know I have the counties support if I want to shoot in my back yark. I'm sure it will be safe, the next house is a good 25 meters away. The range day was an event to allow the kids and Alice to shoot the rifle and to check the new ammo to see how the rifle liked it. The kids and my brother Kris, whom Lon mentioned above, all thought it wasby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, What is the OS on the server where the files reside? Does someone have admin rights on the server? It might be easier to rename all the files using a script to remove te special symbols and replace them with a name date comination where no two files have the same name. Then they should be easy work with using any computer. If the server's running Linux then all you need is a simple bby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I don't think I will need to sleep on your couch for extended periods, but I'm sure there may be visits now and then. I think creating an electronic catalog of all your work would be the start. Then add additional information such as drawings, production notes, and any additional info concerning each peice. Organize and edit the information and before you know it you have a book. I bby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, My son, Adam, has the spark. He was recognized as on of the up and coming artist in the Miami area by one of the local rags ands he is still in college. He likes metal working and will be taking a bronzing class next semester. He wants to turn my garage into a shop, which I've sure Alice will love. I have no idea where I'm going to put all that junk I have collected over the years toby Keith - The Picture Gallery
Gary, You have done many things in your life that would make interesting reading. I have a brother who is an artist and a son who will be one in the near future. My brother has done the same thing his entire life, nice art, but its all in one area, and other then a picture book of his artwork, there is nothing else there. I see my son being more like you in your artistic efforts since he haby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I think we need a new Topic called Metal Working, Shop Talk, or Metal Shop. I've considered getting a milling machine for years now and one of my sons wants to be a Jeweler though he is more into metal working. You guys can give us armchair metal benders some teach on how to do it right. Keith BTW, Gary - I odered those books from Oppi Untracht for my son. He's getting them for Christmby Keith - The Picture Gallery
Lon, Cool, I'll get some air and let's plan on Saturday as a range day. Keithby Keith - Gary's Galleries
Gary, Great, I'll still be yough then. Now I have something to look forward to other then grandkids, great grandkids and great great grandkins. I was thinking, do you have photos of all your work? Maybe Jim or I can create a database of all your rifles and accessories, date made, etc, to use for a reference. Jim could use it when he buys another Internet special so he can try to get thby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Lon, All I need is air. I have a 4500psi tank and hookup, its just getting the air that is an issue. If I ahd a male/mal foster connector I could take it to the local paintball shop to fill by feeding the tank through the feed hose, but they do not have any tank conectors. I will swing by the dive shop and see if they will hook me up. I have my dive card around somewhere... What days areby Keith - Gary's Galleries
Lon, What are you doing tomorrow? I have lead. Also, where is that place you mentioned to me to get air in Coral Gables? Keithby Keith - Gary's Galleries
Gary, When are you making molds again? I can see that I'm going to need a set sometime in the future and if it matched the my rifle, that would be cooler. Its a shame the molds for Jim's rifles are lost into the void. At least you have photos of what was. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jerry, If I can get some air I'm going to take it to the range before Christmas. Karl and I are meeting up in Tampa after the first of the year and I hope getting air is no longer a problem. Keithby Keith - Gary's Galleries
