We call that "Alternative Methods" in Missouri. Dec 20-30 this year. This season was previously the "Muzzle loading" season, but they have broadened it to use anything but a standard cartridge firearm (within reason). Alternative methods can also be used during regular firearm season as well, which starts in November.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

After seeing the completed picture of the knife, I was curious how the process of making the scales worked. Thanks for the photos. I know the guy who gets to carry that knife again will be very happy when it arrives. It is amazing how well that knife, including the blade, has worn since 1979. Great craftsmanship does matter.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
A great, relatively simple solution for a frustrating problem. Given it's a Barnes, I would carry it... Keep this one for yourself Gary. Don't let me, or anyone else, talk you out of it, no matter how hard we try.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
T-shirts? We get T-shirts!?!?!by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
That knife looks great! The new, stained bone scales should last another 30 years, at least. Those rivets are nothing like the cheap stuff in the big box stores. I have a couple of Barnes knives. I have used one enough to wear out one of the scales. It is amazing that when knives are made well, they hold an edge better and are more useful than most of the mass manufactured cr@p that is out thby Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Glad the trip went well. And additionally blessed by the lack of major damage on return! Maybe the tides are turning....by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I won't make any comments about how that 16,000 ft/lbs would likely drop the tractor bucket on your head... But I'm glad the job is done without injury. I don't get to use a chain saw very often, but it sure is fun when that huge tree falls exactly where planned.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I did cry! And I want to cry again now that I see it from this perspective. As I orignially posted, NEVER lean your rifle against the wall without good support. You may regret it! Gary has my permission to fix my mistake however he sees fit. I trust his ability both mechanically and asthetically. He made it awesome once, I know he will do it again. Wouldn't want to shoot pigeons in the barn with that one. But it would chase the raccoons away from the cats!by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I wouldn't want "one size fits all". That's what I like about Barnes airguns!by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I don't see it as competition. I see it more as an appetizer! You always say that having your pieces seen makes them more valuable.... I also know that whatever you charge for the stock repair will be honest and worth it. I wish I had more time to shoot and comment on every post. But, I try to drop at least one note every time I visit.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I wish I had the funds currently. It would be a good reason to get into black powder. But then, I don't really get the time to shoot my other rifles like I would like to.... I guess I'll keep dreaming--and working.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Looking good as always! I just saw this one on eBay-$599.95.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I'm commenting on an older post, but it's worth marveling at how precise your rifles are made. When you can use a scope with rings that was sighted in on another rifle and it still shots straight on a completely different rifle, that is precision. I think there are many who would say that it is not possible to be so consistent without a CNC machine. It always amazes me how a good craftsby Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, It's unusual for me, but I made it back here 2 days in a row. I'm hanging in here and I do not have any intentions of rushing you. I do enjoy the reading this site more than I post and I'm glad you are making progress. I understand some of your plight, because I keep finding myself wishing that life would just slow down a little....by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I don't get to stop by as often as I like, but I try to keep up. I'm glad to see you're making progress. It's starting to warm up here, so hopefully I'll get the Barnes rifles out again soon. I'll try not to forget the camera! One of our favorite rifles is an incredilbly silent, remarkably accurate, stainless steel shrouded Appaloosa with a broken stock. It will shoot .25 calibeby Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Hey Gary! A belated happy birthday to you! The house is looking beautiful. I hope you get out of there soon.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, It's been a while, but I thought I would stop by and say "Hi!" I love that window! As you finish up, I'm sure you're thinking about how "The devil is in the details". People won't notice that everything is structurally sound and all the leaks have been sealed and repaired. They expect that. They will notice every one of your painted details. They are unique. It will be sad when thby Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Gary, It's good to read that you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. And it doesn't sound like is's a train coming at you! I pray that the details don't get in the way and that things come together better than expected. Scottby Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
