You're pretty quick on the uptake Jerry, it took me a while to notice the new touches. Nice work as always, Gary.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I found that the forum generally works best when I remember my password. If somehow my bookmarks and password cookies get dumped, I'm stuck trying to remember the ones I don't use often. Yeah, yeah, I know. I should write it on a stickynote and store it securely underneath the mousepad like everyone else.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Great post guys, one of the best yet, thumbs WAY up. Jerry seems to have his video technique dialed in; the shots were well framed and in good focus, excellent editing work too to capture the best footage without running overly-long (those of us with slow connections thank you for that!). The shots with the projectiles dropping in from above prior to impact are eerily reminiscent of Hellfiby rotorhead - Video Library
Whatta you mean Gary? Don't they carry 1.005" deep-bore reamers by the dozen down at Harbor Freight for a buck a piece? Actually, if by chance they DID happen to have reamers you could probably get one there on the cheap just by bringing along your mike and sorting through the "one inch" reamers till you found one that was .005 out of specs. It probably wouldn't break off in the work moreby rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Beautiful rifle, love the stock. How did you get Gary to do a laminated stock without throwing in all those "tutti-frutti" colors he's so fond of? And to top it off, it doesn't even have a 4x Simmons on the top, amazing! Seriously though, it's a fine looking piece, I'm officially jealous.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Excellent points Jerry, and some good numbers to back them up. While it's obviously important to use good quality tooling, it's far more important that you fine-tune your PROCESS if you're trying for precison. The best tools in the world won't give you good results unless you know how to use them properly, and use them the same way every time. I'd also point out that the process of swaging asby rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Actually, they DO work, but with some pretty severe limitations. We used to use them to top off the oxygen tanks on a helicopter I used to fly for a hospital, and with any luck at all I'll never have to use one again. Basically, they're a large diameter piston driven by a regulated low-pressure air/gas source that directly drives a small diameter piston. The smaller piston compresses the gasby rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Compared to a .177 airgun, a Chief Justice actually IS an artillery piece! Nice photos, thanks for posting them.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hmmm..... If Gary ever put $600 worth of HIS scopes on a rifle, that would be... about, yep, divide by N, carry the two... All of them.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Yup, I agree with you guys on this one, a bit of civility goes a long way towards making a forum a good place to frequent. A good moderator is essential in maintaining that civility, as there will always be those out there whose idea of witty repartee is limited to profanity. It looks to me that the internet is gradually evolving towards two standards of conduct. One is the current model of toby rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

We had a great 4th up here, although the heat was killing us (it hit 81 today, sweltering by local standards). Nice fireworks show out over the ocean, though at 11:00 it's still more like twilight out.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Yeah, with a 4x shotgun scope you could shoot offhand, standing on an earthquake fault line in a hurricane and it's still rock-steady. On a slightly more serious note, you can get pretty good results out of low mag glass, you just have to have 20-year-old eyes.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I imagine that the "Chinese Hummers" will be called by the same name we use for things like unicorns and faeries, the word "imaginary" comes to mind. Seriously, those things are so wide you can hardly even drive them on American roads, and you're gonna try to drive them all over the far east on roads barely wider than a donkey path? NOT. I refer of course to the original model Hummer, the laterby rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Glad to see that you have the safety glasses handy. Now all you need is a large box of band-aids and a convienent list of swear words and you're all ready to start machining. BTW, no pair of glasses, no matter how stout, is proof against a lathe chuck key being flung at high speed across the room. Do they still have a bar called "the Mangy Moose" in Jackson Hole? I was there the day the drinking age went from 18 to 21 in WY...talk about a bunch of sad-looking teenagers.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
They look like quite a bargain, I'm interested to find out how it goes.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Probably the best thing you can do is to bring along a buddy. Mountain Lion (cougar) aren't particularly tough critters, a .357mag is plenty enough pistol, and some folks that hunt them for a living go with a Glock in 10mm since they're fast moving and agile. What they really are is sneaky, classic ambush hunters with exceptional stalking skills. A buddy who can (literally) watch your back is proby rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

I suppose you could weigh the pellets you find around here, as long as you give 'em a chance to dry out first. They come out of the moose kinda sticky, you know.by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I wonder how many airgunners didn't get their introduction to airguns by pointing a Red Ryder at something they shouldn't have and getting a riccochet back in the kisser as a reward? Good thing they don't have a .62 inch bore on those things, ain't it?by rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Glad to hear that you got it sorted out on the meds, some of them can be pretty particular about scheduling. Today I got my semi-irregular (just got lucky on the schedule) eye exam. It's a good thing they have you fill out the paperwork BEFORE they start in with the eyedrops. It's been hours and I'm only just now able to read the fine print on the screen again. Of course it'd been cloudy allby rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
It's always a good idea to introduce a potential new shooting enthusiast, especially when they leave with a big grin on their faces. Despite what the anti's would have people think, it a rare person who isn't at least a LITTLE bit interested in guns and shooting. Everyone that I've taken out as a new shooter has really like it, even if they didn't end up getting into it as a sport. The more peoplby rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I'd be happy if Apple could just stick to electronics, thank you. They do a great job at some things, foremost perhaps being innovation and industrial design. Their Ipod and Iphone created new categories instead of just incrementally improving old ones. Prior to the Ipod everyone was perfectly happy toting around huge, bulky Walkman and Discman players and thought they had it good. However, theyby rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
AHHH...there you go again, confusing style with substance. The fine folks at Apple have always valued the former to a degree not typically found in computer products, but they have their own interpretation of the latter. If you're one of the Apple cogniscenti, it would no doubt be intuitively obvious to you at a glance. If not, well... The last of the bison herd, end of an era...a moment of silence...YEAH!!!! If there was ever a model destined for the only-every-once-in-a-great-while special projects category, this has gotta be it. I'd love to find the jerk that invented "push in" fixtures and wire him for some voltage. They've caused me no end of problems over the year, along with the "just twist them together, don't need to spend two cents on a wire nut" ground connections. My favorite is when the CO alarms go off when you change the channel on the Direct TV box...go figure. And yes, the good folks at Apple didn't graby rotorhead - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
