Everyone has said they'd like to see this bullet. Here it is! That's it at the extreme right of the streak. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
While we can still say it! My family very much appreciates the service, no matter when, of those who have worn our country's uniforms. God Bless you all. Currently, one Son is out of the USAF due to disability. One daughter is out of the USAF (triplets ended that career . My Son is a career USAF guy. My Son-in-law, and another Daughter-in-law are USAF career people. We know what you aby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Happy Birthday ya OLD COOT! And Happy Birthday to the Princess of the Manor. I hope your entire family are blessed with a bountiful number of birthdays and enjoy each and every one. ANOTHER camera? I still want that neat remote shutter version you had before. You're killin' me with those scenery shots. Here I sat on my patio and had a nice bowl of fresh fruit for breakfast ...by barnespneumatic - I'm just sayin'
Thanks for the post Neil! Happy July 4th ... hehe. Even though you have to live in that beautiful place where ya are. Somebody's got to do it! Garyby barnespneumatic - The Hunting Camp
Right ... the military are looking into it now Lon. It's gonna be BIG! Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Well - here's another good one: When you are in Window Movie Maker ..... and you go to help and search for something ... it gives you detailed directions of what to look for ..... in Windows MEDIA PLAYER. Well ... you are not in Media Player ... so you don't see anything it's telling you is there. And ... there's no portion of the screen that offers a link to Media Player. Once you realizeby barnespneumatic - I'm just sayin'
Hi Neil, I saw that too. On the bigger screen, while processing, I swear that pc. was sucked thru the Gopher, and them flipped off upon exit. It's the bullet hole. It disappears at the bullet strike, and then reappears over the Gopher's right shoulder and floats back toward the shooting line. I'm sure you find these"bullet holes" all over your range too. Funny. Good call. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Scott, yeah - amazing what you can do with those little $10 digital cameras. I'm also very grateful to our military persons. Current and past, who have served. Happy 4th of July! Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Rotor, Yeah - the Gopher gets all the fun ... hahah. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Neil, Hehehe. Yeah - that crossed my mind too. At least there was a nice garden on the other side when the light subsided. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Jim, This is a "pulse jet" mechanism. Not a rebounding hammer. Therefore it uses a very short cycle burst of air. The shorter cycle can use much higher psi. Seems to work well. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Rotor, Because I had to trip the camera, and them hike back to the shooting bench while the camera was running, I deemed 50 yards to be quite enough for the clay video. haha. As Kent mentioned though, you can see in the video, that the slug didn't seem to know it had hit anything. It really books along. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Danny, All Barnes barrels are left hand twist. A trademark choice from long ago. I've done quite a bit of testing with rifling pitches - from 1/7 to 1/48 over the last few decades. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Joe, I've been interested, for years, in shooting some very long slugs. This seems to be working very well. It does make up a lot of energy, and seems to fly to distance very well. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Kent, Ya need to slide that 32 insert into your Chief Justice and give it a crack. That ought to have the spunk to get some slugs out there. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I'm going to start making all my guns with a small grub screw threaded up the intake so it can't take any air (by default). It will be up to the end user to figure out what in the heck is wrong, and find the screw. Then, I can act all superior because I know it's there, how to remove it, and make them feel stupid when they can't find it. Garyby barnespneumatic - I'm just sayin'
I've fought for hours today? Does anybody ELSE think this stuff is NUTS. After hours of searching ... is this telling me that the menus you need to access the functions of the movie maker programs are HIDDEN BY DEFAULT? Are the kidding? Seriously? And then, when you follow the directions ... I still get nothing. No "Now Playing Tab". No arrow below that. No "enhancement" options which tby barnespneumatic - I'm just sayin'
Kent, When I was working the video, I slowed the play rate down by about 5 times on a couple of the repeat clips. Gave a bit more time on screen. I'm evidently the world's worst video program guy. Can't find anything and get it all screwed up. But hey - you get what your movie ticket is costing you ... haha., Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Right ... and working on about five others at the same time - all totally different ... and remembering what's what is fun. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Kent, If I recall correctly, it's 187.7 grains @ 835 feet per second. Frame rate was 420 frames per second. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Yeah - I was there. What are you gonna do with a kid with an idea. haha. Gary There's a few things left to try. haha.by barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Yes - I think the slug is gone before the energy it imparted has moved the clay. Sort of like that recent post I recycled from the Justice testing on a water jug. The hole in the target testified to the fact that the slug had been and gone ... but the following montage of slides showed the water's reaction building and building after the slug was ancient history. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
For the guys that figure out the video. Don't blab - go make one for yourselves. Once everybody knows ... they'll all say ... Oh ... you mean you JUST ... haha. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Ced ... or, shall I say "TOFAZ" ... Yeah - on the EXIT wound ... I'd say they look like rifling marks to me. I'll have to count the tracks. It engraved the clay as it was emparting the energy to blow the wound channel out many times the size of the slug. The exit is probably 2" across. Well Blondie ... that was the bullet. Can't feel any more blonde than I do right now. Trying to use this cursed Premere Elements Video Program. I've never seen anything more out of touch with my hardwire system than this. I can honestly say that I hate the programer who developed it. Would love to kick him around the block six times with a heavy boot. Everything is cute once you alreby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Yesterday (Friday) the weather here was georgeous. About 80 degrees - and a stiff breeze. Today and tomorrow was predicted to be scorching (and it is ... ) I decided to take a few hours in the good weather - and hit the range. What a day. Man - it was nice out there. Good thing too ... cause ... this time I remembered the gasoline for the generator if I needed it ... but forgot theby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Yeah ... cameras are cheap these days Lon. Anything for you guys.by barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Sean, Yeah ... Jerry's handy sometimes ... haha. The texturing is actually produced with a rotary tool and applied by hand. Takes awhile. The trick is to get it truely random - so the eye doesn't pick up patterns, overlays, or "hot spots". It provides a different color and texture to the eye ... and makes stainless steel somehow seem at home on a gun that looks 19th century. It will alsby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Sean, Good. That's fine. Nutz ... it's a shame I tossed all those parts last night ... ... and I have that truck load of stainless machine screws coming too ... haha Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
