You're welcome Gary, I'm just stating my opinion of what I think.by peter-n - The Picture Gallery
Thanks Gary! I love all powerful bigbore custom guns. I'm a hunter, shooter, and a collector, and I'd love to own all the different custom bigbores if I could. Each gun is different and interesting in its own, and they're all great guns. However, in my true opinion, your bigbores are the best of the best. The quality, power, looks, and unique designs make your guns the best period.by peter-n - The Picture Gallery
Here is the Bontrager 20 guage air shot/slug gun. When I first received this gun, I was in awe and impressed by its beauty and power. I still do now. The fit and finish is nice. The stock is good looking and has a nice classic line to it. It balances good when I bring it up to the shoulder, and weighs a little less than 9 lbs, no more than an R9. With 500 fpe, and 5 shots total, plus the abilitby peter-n - The Picture Gallery
WOW! The Tundra .87 is very impressive. It's brute power coupled with its accuracy and huge slug make it a true Dragon Slayer! This is no doubt, a bigbore for taking down the largest of games! Very nice gun Gary, even though it's not done yet.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks Neil! I'm having a blast with this shotgun. It's the most versatile gun in my airgun arsenal. To be able to take down running games with an airgun is a satisfying feeling that is hard to describe.. With this shotgun, I can hunt running small games, flying games, coyotes, to big games. And some of the fun is loading your own shelves to match the games you hunt with. The pellets has peneby peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Finally I got it, and loaded some pictures. Took me a while, but it's good that I learned so from now on I can post pictures. Thanks guys!!by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I went out and shoot the Bontrager 20 guage today. I tested the pattern at 35 yards with the 3/4 ounce #4 shot. At 500 fpe, each pellet carries about 5 fpe out of the 100 pellets. That is plenty for small games. The pattern is good enough at 35 yards with a 18 inch spread. I also tested the 340 gr slug, it flew out at 803 fps for a 500 fpe. With heavier slug, I'm sure it could get over 600 fpe. Iby peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Great videos! I like the Grizzly look, and it's cool to watch the recoil and a cloud of smoke...I mean air vapor coming out of the barrel. good job guys!! PS. Gary, I want the Grizzly REAL bad, sign me up for one, and I'll be happy to be your slave for the rest of my life he...he...by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Joe said the choke works better with shot, it gets denser and tighter pattern. I shot it and the pattern at 30 yards is good with number 6 shot. This gun use the shot wads of the shotgun. For slugs, I guess it wotks against it a litle bit. Thanks Jerry for your offer.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Good shooting Neil! You've got the bench rest shooting down!by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
The Prarie also looks awesome. You fortunate guys have all the nice guns to play with he..he..by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Wow! The Ranger looks gorgeous! I love the look of the Mahogany wood. Can't wait to hear more infos on the .87 Justice and Tundra.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks Gary! Good advice. I guess, I'll have to find the right mold to get the best out of the shotgun and learn how to cast slugs. The barrel has a built in full choke, I think that is the reason why it robbed a large amount of velocity with a hard cast slug. With soft lead, it shoots good.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks Seppo! But I'm not ready to do casting yet. If I find the slugs I want for my gun, I'll just buy a large amount to last me. Thanks anyway.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jerry, I have the Bontrager 20 guage air shotgun, and I've tried the 430 gr Ballistic Product 20 guage slugs like Joe recommended, but the problem is the slugs are too hard, I lost about 150 fpe from the shotgun. My gun gets 500 fpe from the Winchester 340 gr slugs (I had to buy the whole shotgun shelves and removed the slugs from sheves), it shoots ok with these, but I know this gun is capabby peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Yeah Gary, launching thru the roof with the airtank strap in the back would be a fun way to leave this world he.. he. I understand airtanks are very safe and there's no need to worry about it. I just treat it with a lot more respect now because of its tremedous energy.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Very impressive gun! I love the big .87 bore, I don't know why, but I'm in love with the really big caliber bigbore airguns. And the .87 projectile is really BIG! Anything gets hit with it will GO down he..he.. Thanks for the pictures Gary!by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jeez, it went off like a missile, pretty scary! Thanks for the link Jim.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
In Jaws, the tank explosion was a myth, it was tested by the Mythbuster team. Yeah, it was hard to believe it didn't explode by a bullet.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
When I read the infos about the energy of the 3100 psi 80 cf of the scuba airtank, I was in a disbelief. It says it hold 1,200,000 ft/ lbs of kinetic energy if exploded. That's the equivalent of 2 sticks of dynamite or 2 hand granades and can lift a locomotive up in the air or a fire hydrant truck 60 ft up the air if exploded. I kinda knew it would be dangerous if exploded but I didn't know thatby peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Nice gun! Good shooting there Tofazfou. The Lothar Walther barrels are known for extreme accuracy, I love them myself. I also love the .25 bore, it's my most favorite for the smallbore airgun. I'm mostly a hunter, and the big .25 pellet is lethal for smallgames. Good to see you post here also man, it seems every forum I go to, you are there he..he..by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Good post guys, as I'd like to cast my own slugs one day. I learned a lot about molding. Thanks!by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
You're right Neil. I just saw the trophy groups shot by Jerry and Gary, they are spectacular bigbore groups at 100 yards. You can literally hit the fly at 100 yards with it! Very impressive.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Neil, that is very impressive! I've never heard of a tiny group like that at 100 yards with the bigbore. And who says bigbore airgun can't be super accurate? Your gun and ammo is more accurate than most custom centerfired deer rifles. Good job!by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Good post Gary. I've always enjoyed reading about your works, it's very interesting and educational. Thanks!by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Awesome videos!! I really enjoyed it, a lot of fun. Thanks for posting the pictures and videos Gary and Jerry!by peter-n - Video Library
Very impressive shootings! All this this talk about the super accurate and powerful Grizzly makes me drooling for one so bad. Good post!by peter-n - Video Library
Heavy bullet coupled with relatively low velocity retain its energy extremely well. Based on the black powder ballistic table, a .45 shooting a 500 gr bullet at 680 fps for about 500 fpe will retain 440 fpe at 100 yards, and more than 250 fpe at 500 yards which is still enough power to penetrate a deer broadside completely and kill it! Heavy for caliber also has excellent sectional density, theby peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Great looking gun! The laminated stock looks awesome.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
That is very impressive Neil! Was that from the same fill pressure for the 3 shots group? 50 yards .600 in group was almost unheard of for the bigbore. Good job!by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
