he.. he.. Gary, that's funny!by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Good shooting Jim. Looks like it's capable of .5 inch group at 50 yards, and that is the accuracy level of the much more expensive Euro guns. I love the extreme accuracy of a quality small bore airgun, it's a lot of fun. Good job, you've made a great buy!by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Good job!! Very impressive power! And nice looking too. It must be really fun and satisfying to modify your own guns. I wish I could do the same he..he..by peter-n - The Picture Gallery
Nice gun, congrats!! I'm sure you're gonna have lot of fun with it. I hear it's very accurate and worth all the money. Can't wait to see your accuracy results.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
The Rendezvous video section is pretty cool and fun to watch. I went over and watched them a few times and still enjoying them. I see it gets a lot of traffic, can't blame them, videos are fun to watch. The special video section is what make this forum different than the other airgun forums. I like the fact that viewers can always find the video section and watch them. Good job guys!by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Very impressive power Gary! No wonder the steel plates were flipped up like little toys. A serious large game hunting gun you got there! Thanks!by peter-n - Video Library
That's a cool video! a tremedous amount of energy to pick up the steel plates like that. what is the caliber and fpe of the gun? thanks Gary!by peter-n - Video Library
Bignore, man you take this hobby serious, I think this is the first start and you're on your way to be greatness. Maybe Barnes number 2 ? he..he.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Bigbore, congrats!! It would be cool if you be able to build your own bigbores. I'm seriouly thinking about it myself, I like the bigbores and fascinated by them so much that I hope one day in the future I will be able to build them. I know it's tough and can take a lot of years to learn and figure out how everything works. But with the right determination, anything is possible. I know it wby peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
That sounds fair enough. I understand that it takes a lot of time and effort to do the videos and post, and it's not fair for only a couple guys to do it all the time. I too, would like to see more forum members come forward and post.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jim and Jerry, I really would like to see a close up videos of your Barnes guns, showing the stocks, bolts, loading troughs, and the discriptions of the guns, projectiles, power, and it's accuracy. I know we have pictures, but a few minutes close up videos of the guns would be nice and different if you don't mind and whenever you have the time. We all would like to drool on them he..he.. Thanby peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
A 24 power scope at less than a hundred sounds like a good deal Jim. If you want to shoot real tiny group, big scope power such as the 24 power is the way to go. I have shot .25 inch groups at 100 yards and 1.5 inch group at 300 yards with the Savage .223 bull barrel but only with the help of the high powered scope. The higher the scope power the better the groups you can shoot. That's what I leaby peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I agree with you Jerry. The stock can be an indicator of quality work since you can't really see the inside of the gun such as the valves. When I got my custom bigbores, I always look at the stock and the fit and finish over real carefully to see the quality of works. When the stock and the fit and finish look beautifuly and flawless, then I know there's a very good chance that the builder also hby peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I agree 100%, respect is the key word. Disrespecting people started all the troubles. I've always treated everyone with respects on the forums that I frequent, and I grew to like, respect, and made friends with the respecting forum members, but I have no patience for the disrespecting ones. Sure, we can disagree on some subjects, and it will always happened, but be civilized and couteous about itby peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Good, informative post Gary. It's very interesting, and I learned something new about wood.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Good call Jim! I would like to get one myself, I hear it's quieter than my AirArms S410 makes me want to get it.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Good shooting Neil! That's a nice group at 100'yards. As regarding the bigbore, a 2 inch group accuracy at 50 yards is sufficient for biggame hunting at that distance.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Good advices everyone, thanks! The irony thing is I've been also wanting to hunt mountain lion for a long time, just never had a chance. Here in Nevada, there are a lot of them, you can just get a tag over the counter and hunt one. They hunt them by dogs, after the dogs treed them several times and might take up to a couple days into the hunt, the mountain lion finally got worn out by the dogs,by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Yeah, you're right Joe, set up the decoy and the call a good distance between me is a good idea, that way the predators don't mistaken me for a meal. I've read an article in a predator hunting mag, it says whenever you hunting predators in a bear and cougar country you would have to be extra careful.by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jim, I really like the SW .500 Magnum, that gun can take down an elephant he..he.. but you are right, too much recoil for my situation. The .44 magnug sounds good! Sometimes I feel the urge to just use my Bowie knife ln case of an attack, "mano a mano" no guns, just me the knife and the mountain lion, but then I realized I'm not Tarzan, and I refuse to be its dinner he..he. where I hunt, big mountain lion tracks were everywhere. It made me a little uneasy, when the only gun I carry is the 500 fpe single shot bigbore airgun. Now I know the gun can take it down if I can hit it in case of an attack, but what If I missed? I planned to hunt coyotes in that area with the bigbore, or the 500 fpe air shotgun with buckshot, but calling in coyotes might also attract the mounby peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Nice gun Dan! Spring/ gas ram guns are fun, I like them because of their simplicity and selfcontained power. Congrats!by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Well, I finally just got my personal laptop, and been figuring out and playing with it. Yeah, I know...I'm 42 and never had my own computer before he..he. I've been using my Iphone to post. I'm a little computer illiterate, but I'm a fast learner so it won't take long. I've got pretty much everything figured out. It's amazing with what you can do with a computer. Right now I'm waitting to get aby peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Introducing the hobby to newbies is always good and satisfying, espcially to see the joy and wonderments on their faces. However, sometimes it also can be risky. I took a friend to hunting some jackrabbits once, I handed him a Ruger 10/.22 magnum and explained to him that never ever to point the barrel at anyone direction, and always have the safety on and point the barrel down on the ground exceby peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Nice shooting bench Neil! And the groups are excelent shooting! Good job!by peter-n - The Gear Shack
I think it's a HUGE adrenaline rush to hunt dangerous games, knowingly, they can kill or eat you back! But that's what make it so exciting! I've always dreaming of hunting the Alaskan brown bear, they can get up to 1500 lbs, lion, leopard, hippos, and tiger with firearms. Any of these animals is mean and can tear you apart and kill or eat you. It's not for the faint of heart that's for sure he..by peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Dave P has sucessfully hunt a black bear in Canada with a 500 fpe bigbore. According to him, he shot the bear from the tree stand at 30 yards, the slug has passed thru both shoulders, the bear ran 50 yards and collapsed. A successeful hunt! The bear weighed 150 lbs. He's probably the first person to ever taken a black bear with a bigbore airgun. When another hunter expressed his wish to hunt aby peter-n - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
