Gary, Finer stones, 800 & 1000 + a leather strop are what I added to my set. Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Very nice. The belt looks like you just took it out of the package. Again, I'm really liking the Wharncliffe shape lately too. I have a sharpening kit that clamps the blade at various angles. I just added some finer stones and will practice on some $15 dollar knives. While getting "Internet tips" on sharpening I've become an Internet expert on blade angle and Rockwell testing.by Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, 17 degree edge on your blades? Rockwell? Do you test for Rockwell hardness or judge from experience? O2 steel right? Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Actually, I thought it was a posed shot next to a brand new belt. If that is a used belt, I am impressed. Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

I'm really coming around to the wharnecliff/sheepsfoot blade style, the blade tip looks like it wants to part whatever it comes into contact with. Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

These are unique times, regardless of one's prior experiences. Combine these times with aging and its challenges and I'm starting to feel like a different person. Gary, I follow a lot of content on forums and YouTube. My observation is that most content creators create content because it is THEIR passion and will do it regardless of response. Some have turned their social media presence into a successful business, others use it to augment a business and some do it just for pleasure. Gary, Quite frankly I don't understand the interest level myself, even the venerable "Yellow" is a shell of its former self with rarely a post that gets more than a half dozen comments. Gary, I don't think the thread is a "one is better than another". I stated that I could never buy a Spyderco with the ring assist drilled into the blade yet they are heralded by very popular knife reviewers as "The ultimate knife". Ultimate for them, ultimate for tens of thousands, worthless to me. I couldn't buy one on looks alone, completely Irrational reasoning. Gary, I'm not saying I don't like the lever on the front, I'm saying I love the lever on the top. I prefer liner lock also. You made an interesting comment about "the world followed". In this case, I don't think we were lemmings. Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, The open assist lever on top is where my index finger is naturally, that is why I favor the design. I have not tried the lever on the front, don't care for the little bosses on the blade and just can't get past the ugly of the ring assist that is the Spyderco trademark. My opinion. Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, This is a very popular style and these specifications--liner lock, lever on the side-- are my personal favorites. The open assist lever on the end looks like it would eventually open up a hole in a pocket, something I've experienced so I'm wary of those shapes. Scales? I'm looking forward to this build.
