4 years is enough time. I blew the dust off the old parts and began some final touches. All the brass hardware needed polishing, the breech and barrel needed bluing and the oak leaf inlay needed to be secured. I still need to make the handle for the bolt action and assemble the trigger.by Jessf - The Picture Gallery

the curved piece you see is the bolt handle. i want to carve a spiral type design in it. The intent is to relief carve the oak leaf. I just had the waterjeft do most of the hardwork and I get to do the fun stuff.by Jessf - The Picture Gallery

Unfortunately it's sat around since 2008 and it's gotten a little rusty in spots. I cleaned up the rust and removed all the machine blue. I picked up my brass parts from the waterjet cutter today: a barrel band, oak-leaf blanks for the relief inserts and a new cockingby Jessf - The Picture Gallery

Thanks. Most of the sanding came at the end. The vast majority of it was cut away on the bandsaw, then the big gouges and a belt sander. then a lot of initial shaping with a cheapo rasp. I did some final sanding then the last thing was scrapers. I'd never used scrapers before but I understood that it cleared the wood grain and helped get a nice finish.by Jessf - The Picture Gallery
this is a project I finished a few years back, .22 BAM B50. At the time I think it was pushing 32g Eun jins at 945fps. I've recently wanted to continue on with the installation of a custom breech, barrel and more brass fittings. This was my first attempt at relief carving and this time around I want to try my hand at engraving brass. I'm going to add a few more carved panels. not sure how loby Jessf - The Picture Gallery
