Gary, why do you keep tempting me? These knives look great!by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kurt, You got a real beauty there. One just can't truly understand the intricacies of a Barnes knife with out seeing it in person, and holding it in their hands. I'm still trying to figure out how that Swiss army knife fits together. You might have to get your son to help you make a video to post....by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, This is a beautiful knife! (as expected) The blade and the carving are awesome! Folks, The pictures do not do Gary's knives justice. Particularly with the low resolution allowed on the forum. This Damascus blade can only be appreciated in person. It's going to be hard to pass up Gary's Damascus blades in the future....by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
-What's that pile of garbage doing on the bench? -Oh wait! That's the makings of a beautiful Barnes knife! It is amazing what you do, Gary!by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Congratulations Pop! There is no way Kelly is old enough to be a great grandmother. But, congratulations to Kelly too!by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
That knife is a beauty. The new owner is going to be very proud! I think it will match one of his airguns very nicely....by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
24 views and not one comment? Gary, this is a great picture! A look onto the knife-maker's tool bench.... I see a friendly game here if anyone is paying attention: How many different knives are represented in this picture? How many different tools can we identify? --I'll identify the first knife: the Sherpa --and I'll identify the first tool: the Magic Sharpie! I know these arenby Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kelly sure does a good job keeping you fed!by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, That's another cool toy, I mean tool, you have to play/work with! It is easy to see how the process would be very tedious and time consuming. I suspect when the mass producers automate a process like this, the quality starts to go down rapidly.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
That brain is always spinning. It is hard to keep a Master on track when the ideas keep stacking up.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I like the pattern of the carving. Reminds me of my Appaloosa. I haven't said no yet....by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Another beauty!by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Exciting times in the Barnes Shop! Looking forward to seeing the progress. It looks like you might have a new mascot. I wonder if he'll show up in any new work....by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
It sounds like a fun time getting the hammer going again. I wish I could come help. I look forward to seeing the final products.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Dropping trees exactly where you intended to is down-right fun! When they go the wrong way.... I hope things are settling down and the storm is winding up.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Gary, Been working the past 14 days straight and haven't had much time to stop in. I pray the "battening of the hatches" is coming to a close and you can put your feet up for a few minutes.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, We don't realize how important our feet our until there's a problem. Sorry to hear about yours. I hope you have completed your preparations for Irma. I'm still praying for her to head east.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, that's a great looking knife! I've been doing some "catch-up" reading on the site and each time I have seen this knife, some new detail pops out. It is amazing how much detail and story can be shared in such a small carving. I'm glad it sold quickly.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Glad to hear you're going to be around for a while longer! I pray the aches and pains let up a bit in the near future.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
A couple of weekends ago another treat came in the mail: The knife on the right I found on eBay several years ago, when Gary wasn't making knives. We only look here for knives now! Gary cleaned it up quite well.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Excellent collection of pictures, Gary. Who's that young guy hammering steel?by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I received a box in the mail today with these 2 packages nicely tied with twine: These beauties were inside: I'm not sure which one I like better! I had not noticed the "grain" of the black knife before. It is splendidly subtle. The wood grain is also quite awesome! And it is a solid knife to hold and use. Thank you, Gary! That's a great looking knife! Where can I get one like that? Just kidding Gary. I know to look on eBay.... I mean right here on Rendezvous, or glbarnes.com !by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, That's such a great knife. I wish I had room for one more right now. I pray the knives sell quickly at the show. I'm sure you'll lose a percentage, but if the right audience is there, the income will be good.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Another beauty Gary! This one should sell quick.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Given how good that picture looks, I'm sure it is AMAZING! in person.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Happy Birthday Kelly! Gary, Everytime I show someone a knife or an airgun, I always tell them they were made by my friend Gary. You are absolutely correct about this site being about friendship. The question seems to be, How to best to appeal to a larger market and sell to strangers?.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Good snatch Kurt! I bet that blade polishes up to be a real beauty.by Scott - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I'm sorry I didn't make it back last night. That was a great offer. Had I not just bought my wife a new refrigerator, I definitely would have considered this 97. That case looks like you put a lot of work into it also. Looks great!by Scott - I'm just sayin'
