For my first airgun, I sold boxes of greeting cards. It was a thing you could do in the 50's and 60's. There were magazine adv. for the programs. A company would send you a case of card boxes. You'd then hound the local neighbors to sell them. As I recall, for the mere sale of a dozen boxes of cards, you could get a nice prize. I actually forget how many you had to see to get the BB gun ...by barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Just being clear. It appears that your other slug will size OK ... and hopefully shoot well. This one, if it works at .3095" ... just leave it that way. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Joebill, I saw Katie last night on the tube. She's cute. Didn't hear her sing. It was the elimination night. Previous night was singing. Did see that she will be touring with their last 10 contensants this summer. Gary Seems I had another thought that related to you .... I forget. I'll remember and ammend later.by barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I've been thinking of getting a cheap electronic call too. I could sit in the War Wagon and "hunt". haha. I saw a pr. of Foxes not long ago (but they were at 200 yards). I could maybe call them in closer. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Peter, I don't think you need to worry about rust or fatigue, "IF" the bolts are correct for their usage. Bolts like that, could be as low as a tensile of around 60,000 psi. For that purpose, I'd use bolts of 190,000 psi tensile. So, if any replacement would be warrented, it would be for tensile strength. The bolts would really look alike. You'd need to know any company markings. Oby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Peter, Very nice. I'm really glad you have it and enjoy it so much. That's what it's all about. I see, and understand how he's designed the bolt lock up system. It's interesting, and I commend him on providing three lock up points. He's using the head of one machine screw stopping against the edge of the receiver housing (up front). And he's using the shaft of a machine screw stoppiby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Neil, First and biggest thing I notice, is that this slug is "intended" to be a "ringed slug". Note the two large "rings" on the slug (that was my forst clue .. haha). Now, note in the post-fired slugs ... the biggest slug, actually acted as a ringed slug. All of the engraving is on the rings. That's the way it should be. Less force required to engrave the rings. The displaced leadby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Neil, Great documentation there. Actually, as you can see, there's nearly no difference. You could still go smaller, if you had a sizing die for it. That's still alot of bullet deformation from the rifling. You need a ringed slug ... like .... hahah And I need a swimming pool .... hahah. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
There ya go. That's the way. Yeah, I have to get a few of these steel stakes. Oddly, I cannot buy simple iron rod that size for that price. And, these are drilled with many holes, and pointed. Amazing value. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Really interesting Joe. Thanks for the stories. Always good to know. You never know when a freind or family member will develop some crazy problem, and you just might have a clue of something to look into. One of my Specialists recently, told me that his patients are often more up to date on their particular symptoms and ailments than he can be. Hi Peter, I'd like to see a pic of the "three safety catches" ... if I understood you correctly. Just interested to see the design. Is the bolt retained solely by the stem of the curved bolt lever/handle? I just went way back and found some pics you posted of your gun. Kelly likes it. I used to watch American I. with her. I like the talent show ... the absurd "Paul Sr." drama is too much though. As well ... Simon was all I could take ... I can't take him AND Ellen. So, now that's one more hour I'm still working. Well, what the heck ... You know ... Thanks Neil, I'm trying to absorb all the information, and rectify it against my experiences. I know the things I've done to achieve exceptional accuracy in many, many different rifles, calibers, and slug designs. So; I clearly have accomplished accuracy. I'm trying to match the oft told logic against my experience in the field. Granted, my experience is in airguns. So, I'm talking velociby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Of their airguns? There's a bunch of tension everywhere today. We need some periods of down time. Coffee breaks. Plinking sessions. And, we need some pics here. Something new when we come here to relax. We continue to have the same situation. I just don't have something to show endlessly. Still thinking ... Remembering Joe's report that it's a known fact that some slugs are more stable at distance than closer. If, as I see should be true, that it's easier to keep a slug rotating than to keep forward travel (relatively) ... then there should be a "sweet spot" where forward travel and spin rate are at their optimal combination. If this were so, then various twist rates shouby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
After two weeks of discussion ... NOW you unload this one??? hahah. So, from the end of the barrel onward, the slug's rotation increases and increases relative to it's forward travel??? Why does it began to wobble as it slows forward travel then? I've still had no answer to why manufacturers make twist rates from about 1 in 5" to about 1 in 84", and everything in between. Hello Neil, Actually, I've been thinking that maybe the barrel spins around the bullet? Yeah ... I think you have the nut of what's been described here. The thing that always got me, was poor writers. I'd slog thru tortured articles depicting bullets hanging in space spinning like turbines gone mad. I don't think I've ever read (or I missed it all) any mention of the fact thatby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Guys, At Lowes, I've ran across some interesting things that could be useful for interesting target components. Especially for big bore, there's a need to have heavy stuff. For my own use, it's also required to have something that can be seen above certain crops or grasses that might be growning in the fields we can shoot in. The thing I ran across, that's very inexpensively priced .by barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Hey Kent, I told Jerry this story ... but couldn't remember the movie we watched once at Hunting Camp. The guy on Jerry's phone was a heck of a nice guy. Yeah ... I know. You are right. And that's one reason I show less and less. It usually leads to no good. Even mentioning the gun models the parts belong to makes it worse.
