Hello Bob, I’m so glad you like your Barnes. That pleases me very much. So glad you liked “The Verne” too. Everyone who has seen that liked the detail. That was an Inspired Project. I was very happy with it. I have the Verne story of “80 Days Around the World” on my mind as well. We shall see. Would be fun. I have ideas for depicting various items. Thank you Gary, I appreciate the well wishes. Thanks for your input. Excellent. I have some materials laid aside. And ideas.by barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
All the parts now! Final assembly and tuning. Don’t forget to participate plz. I’d like to know which of my “Handle Materials and Treatment” do you enjoy most? Carving? Inlay? Mosaic? It’s a question that needs to be answered whenever I speculate. I know from nearly fifty years that most people buy the handle - and the rest comes with it. Ha. It’s true. Of the handles you’ve seen me do, thru the years ... what’s your favorite? 1). Black Micarta 2). Gary’s multi-color micarta (Skeeter Tusk) 3). Mosaics. Gary’s Geometric lay ups of Mamoth, Pearl, Stone, stabilized wood. 4). Relief carved Bone. 5). Relief carved Wood 6). Anodized Aluminum or Titanium Other. Please specify. I need your input please. It’s looking good and working out well. Sorry for the delay. It’s been a painful couple of weeks. I hope you like it. Great Coil Spring Auto Side Open Comments? Excellent! You’ve given it a good home Kurt. Glad to hear that “stropping” comment. That’s usually all an edge needs. It’s wasteful of your edge steel, to use more abrasive stones or diamond bricks. If you only need to remove X amount of steel .... don’t take off 10X. Eventually, you MAY need to swipe a few strokes on a stronger stone (just to reestablish the geometry), but do so spaby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
That’s good Rick. Please let me know if you enjoy the grind and serration combo. Kelly and I have found ours to be our favorite kitchen knife. Many thanks. We appreciate it! Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Since there’s a chance for forum interruption for several days, I’m going to solidify a price and post it. The knife you’ve been seeing me work on has the mechanism of the knife in the recent video posted on Rumble. It will be $750us and call it $10 shipping. I’ll catch the rest. I’ll have the knife within a couple of days. Maybe we can get it wrapped up before the maintenance workby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
The Forum’s Hosting Company is undergoing a Coding Change that may interrupt the Forum sometime between 4/12 - 4/15. To my knowledge, this is “in the weeds” stuff that we won’t see. But may experience interruptions. Stick with us please. We aren’t going anywhere Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I’ve been making the 97s since ... ah ... let’s see now .... 19...97!!! Hey ... how’bout that! I understand that “Collectibles” aren’t all in constant use, but some receive consistent usage. If you have one that you have used regularly; how is it holding up? Are you pleased with the mechanism? How is the “smile factor” holding up? I lay my 97 Mac Prototype right hereby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
One for a friend who ordered it. One will be available to readers. The first one will be available in a few days, to the readers. Excellent Coil Spring Mechanism. Keep Watching. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
“Bench Shot” from a while back (during this run of 97 models). The Autos being made are of this model. There are also a few of the smaller 97 “Mac” Series like the one I have carried for some time now.by barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
A series of 97s and 97A. I began to fill requests, and then I’ve made a couple others too. I’ll have to come back. I began the post and my wife has provided dinner quicker than I realized. Yay. Thank you for reading. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Beginning now, I’ll PAY THE POSTAGE. Load up those Shopping Carts. Let’s get several packages to the post office in the next few days. I won’t go alter every post showing Jewelry. But the Special Applies. I’ll eventually get around to making a notation on other threads. Uncle Sam keeps raising those rates. Let’s see if we can get a package to your house within the duration.by barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I had a post coming but too many things happened at once. I lost it. Thing is ... I have several Autos under build right now!!!! Yayyyyy Hang on. Thanks so much for reading. All of you. Thks for posts too Best Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks Bob and Jana. I’m so glad you like them. We appreciate every sale. Thank you so very much for all the times you’ve shared your special moments with us. We notice. It helps. God Bless, Gary and Kellyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Bringing Forward. The thread may have gotten lost. Do you all like this type of knife. Have you carried one? The side opening Autos are legal to my knowledge. They don’t like the linear (out the front) Autos. Those are usually weak too. This 97A design of mine is just as strong as a 97. They have a good history. What do you readers think? Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Guys. Not one comment? Give me something to think about. A lot of time to make, and to post. What do you see? What thoughts did you have? I can only guess. Thanks! Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Hello Greg, I’ll find and gather materials as able. The only ready to go gun is the #6 Outryder 50 Caliber, which I made as a sale program several years back. This has a Swing Breech. It’s stocked in Mahogany and Chemically blued. Search for “50 Caliber Outryder” or “50 Caliber Outrider”. I do also have a used gun I acquired. Before a recent sale shipped, I felt the existing Bail was too fragile. In a buffing operation, I felt it stretch. So; I set about making a more hearty design, and yet one which appeared as graceful. Here it is, as finished. What do you think? I’d appreciate your comments ... I asked Kelly to take the new knife to the kitchen. Cut something with BOTH our favorite kitchen knife, and this new one also. She did. Her reply was that the new one actually cut a little better then our older one (which I made about five years ago). I asked her if the new one cut “smoothly” and she said it did. Now THAT is a testimonial. We both reach for that old knife every time.by barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
When I went to the house last night, I checked the Serrated Edge on our Favorite Kitchen Knife. I decided to modify the teeth a bit. It cut nice but I decided to make it smoother. So; after Church and after a Church Family meal ... I lightly sanded the edge. I then used my leather power Hone on both sides. That kind of made it look as if it’s hollow ground on the back but that’s an illusion.by barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
