I don't think the owner will regret trusting your judgment Gary, it's....umm......splendiferous! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Gary's Galleries
OK Gary, you got me. I'll take one thanks. Just pop it in the mail, or better still. remember you and Jerry and the crew were invited to visit on the cruise ship featured below...so y'all can deliver it in person....I'm waitin'....... Hehehehehe Neilby neilmcp - Gary's Galleries

Hi Dory Yes, way in the past but not now. However their fur is valuable and a lot of hunters pluck them and get a good price per kilo. A lot of possums needed for a kilo though! The fur has very good insulation properties and is mixed with wool to make nice warm garments and socks. Cheers Neilby neilmcp - The Hunting Camp
Hehehehe...I'm thinkin' I might need a Gatling I wonder if Jerry could keep up the supplies....by neilmcp - The Hunting Camp
..and about 4 degrees Celcius (39.2F), so I had to visit my archives and explain why I want to post some video on hunting possums. These critters were introduced to New Zealand from Australia for their fur, sometime in the last century. However, with no natural predators, their numbers have grown exponentially and now there are around 70 million of them, chewing through our native vegetation andby neilmcp - The Hunting Camp
Paul - Thanks, looks like I have a way forward now from Gary.... Gary, I love that idea! 9 slugs is a big saving too, both in money and time! I'll be onto it as soon as weather permits and will report back. Thanks Jerry - You're right, I don't like "wasting" those gold slugs but as they are my larger game hunting slug I need to do my testing with them. Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Ouch, what a price! Lottery, yes, or you could sell me one of your guns....you know, one of those Barnes ones you don't use much.... Hehehe Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
You may remember the shifting POI problem with my twin-tube 909 Well, it went off to a friend of mine for a power tune and a little bit of work on the POI problem, which included removing the plastic fillet between the top tube and the barrel. The tune was quite conservative, involving mainly opening up the airways. On the weekend I fired a few shots through it. Here's a 7 shot string over tby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

I have SCUBA tanks but I can't get enough air in them to make big bore shooting viable. I was a pumper (FX hand pump) but I didn't want a heart attack before each shooting session. I have just acquired a CF tank and I am assembling all the bits to make my big bore shooting a breeze...I hope Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hehehehe, if only I could draw as well as you, I would but I can't , so here's the next best thing..... These Australian imports were first brought here for fur, and since have multiplied to about 70 million, eating our native vegetation and native birds eggs and hatchlings. These are amazingly tough critters. I have shot them with .45's and they still run away.....Despite poisoning and shootby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Sorry to report that I had no success last night, so nothing to post in the hunting section O Saw only one possum, in the distance and he departed while I was trying to get closer. I did discover some weaknesses in my camera setup which I will rectify before my next hunt. It takes HD video as well as stills so I hope to capture some "live" action! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jerry I'm workin' on it! Last night I went out with the 909s with spotlight and camera attached, hunting the dreaded possum (an Australian import that devastates our native bush and birds) and found.....nothing!! Going back out again tonight though...... Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Sepeteus Yes, the tube is bigger and tuners seem to agree that the 909s is easier to mod than the twin-tube. Regards Neilby neilmcp - The Target Trophy Lodge
Open sights...203 yards....phew!!! I have some work to do. Nice ,Gary Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Gary's Galleries
Extra nice shot, but less of the "old guy" please Gary, you're the same age as me and I'm young.....I think Now, did the recoil knock the old fella over?by neilmcp - Video Library
Looks like you guys had some serious fun! Great videos Jerry. Love seeing the slugs fly Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary Sorry to hear about your chronic pain woes continuing. I can identify with it to some extent, as my wife Julie, at the tender age of 45, has progressive MS and part of the condition, for her at least, is substantial pain in her hands and arms on an ongoing basis. It would be nice to wave a magic wand and somehow stop it all! Hope you can keep it under control. Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jerry I'm jealous that someone got to shoot on the weekend. I got to catch up with everything that wasn't done while I was away, and some things that happenend while i was away, like a fridge-freezer in the garage that chose to defrost and let its contents decompose. Whew! I do feel though that the way Timmy is shaping up you better watch your back!!! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Sepeteus The 909s stock standard was about 10% more powerful than my twin-tube. I'll need to dig up some figures if you need more info. Regards Neilby neilmcp - The Target Trophy Lodge
Well, I'm back.....thanks for leaving the light on! The holiday went well, apart from rain for the first 4 days...after that though, nice 30 degree celcius days every day. There was one hitch to my plans though. When we arrived the beach had been pretty much washed away due to a cyclone 2 weeks earlier. We could still swim in the surf, but those naughty ladies couldn't lie on the beach and I couby neilmcp - I'm just sayin'
that tomorrow morning at 3.30 am I have to shake my wife and 2 kids (well, 13 and 15 year old young adults) awake and trudge off to the airport , to fly to Brisbane Australia for a 2 week beach holiday. This is very stressful you know.... So I won't be shootin' airguns or visiting this forum for 2 weeks. Thanks guys, and yes Jerry, a Barnes-designed-Boyenga -manufactured bench would probably help. My factory in China is busy fabricating one million of these as we speak Maybe I shouldn't have said "funny" about these slugs. Unusual looking maybe, but nothing funny about their accuracy and certainly nothing funny if you were a beasty on the receiving end of one of these. At last count, two goatsby neilmcp - The Target Trophy Lodge
This afternoon I snatched 15 minutes between chores to shoot the 909s on my 50 yard range. I tethered it to a SCUBA tank, with around 3000 psi in it (no access to 4500 psi over here at present, dammit!) and shot a 3 shot 1.6 " group first up with some funny gold slugs. Then I tried another brand that I thought looked exciting, but they "grouped" at 2.6". so I returned to the funny gold slugs andby neilmcp - The Target Trophy Lodge
