Gary, Sorry to hear about your back and legs. It was great to see the Knife progress along in the Photos. It is a special knife and I know it will not lost long. Have a great New Year. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kurt, Too cold for a snowman is way too cold for me. I just help people when I can and my subdivision is owned by a local college. So the people living here are Teachers mostly. Seems the Wives are Teachers and the Husbands work out of town or nights in call centers. Lots of Seamen here always out of town. So if I can help a family by fixing something within my skill level I do.by LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Family can be stressful but later you will all look back and smile at these "funny" things that happen in life. For Christmas I am going to a pool party this afternoon. We are a head of you it is Christmas Day here. My friend in the US asked me why I am going to a pool part on Christmas day?? Because I can is my only answer. Being the unofficial Mr. Fix It here in my subdiviby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kurt, Yes I can a China made choco flavored drink with some white things floating in it. But I know the drink is not chocolate and the white things are not real Marshmallows. I won't drink it. But we do not have peanut butter granola bar's in the small town I am in.. Maybe in Manila. But maybe that is is good thing we don't have them here. But it looks good in the photo. Larby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I knew that knife would not last long. Glad it moved so quickly. Scott is lucky. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Someone is going to have a wonderful Christmas gift. Cannot wait to see it. I don't think it will last long. Great work. (but you only do great work) Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, They do not import that here in the Philippines but it looks yummy. Now you need an electric cup warmer to keep that warm on the bench for you. Nice to see you "cooking" for yourself. ha ha. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Thanks, but............ If the guitars were made right and set up in the factory in the Huge Asian Country of manufacture I would not have the job. ha ha Gary this is not Art I am putting band aids on the Guitar boo-boo's. . Hope you had a great Birthday. Larry (Have Screwdriver Will Travel)by LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Happy Birthday, I find myself not worth the bandwidth these days. I feel for you Gary. Have a great year. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Looks great and cannot wait to see it. I have always liked hammer airguns. Very common on local made guns in the Philippines. Most here are a bit crude so I cannot wait to see a really well made one. Nice. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Glad you have some Clan over for Thanksgiving. Enjoy and try to relax a bit. Hope you both have a great Holiday. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, How do you keep topping yourself? I am lucky to do the same thing twice in a row. Loved the knife a real show stopper. But I also loved your dog trying to blend in with the rug with the great hope of some tiny bit of your dinner hitting the floor. Great work. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hey Lon, I have ADHD and no way I could ever do something like that. I work on a project while watching a movie and talking on the phone. ha ha .. It is stunning. If I every owned a Barnes knife I would wear it out from pocket friction by showing it to everyone I meet. ha ha. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I googled steel toed socks and no results. I hope you can put something together to protect the foot in the shop. Dropping anything on that foot for a few weeks would not be fun. Like the Doctor told me when I broke my arm when I was 12. "That is going to feel so good when it quits hurting". Well you got that going for you at least. Heal fast. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Still sounds a bit "Old School" to me. But so glad it went OK. Glad Kelly is making you stay in. I think the first time you stub or bump the foot in the shop you might just invent some new bad words. ha ha. Modern drugs can be a lifesaver. Please take it easy and listen to Kelly. Be safe and heal up fast. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Even in pain you make me laugh out loud and I thank you for that. All fun aside, I cannot afford a Barnes Knife but remain a loyal reader and friend. I hope your Doctor stuff all turns out well this week. Praying for you from half way around the world. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, As a frustrated designer I think the M&M holder in Cocobolo would go nice with the large wooden spoon and fork hanging on my wall next to the framed "Dogs playing poker" on velvet. (the full size one not the cheap 2' by 4' China made copy). I have a nice unfinished wooden door on two saw horses as my work bench in the living room and the Cocobolo M&M holder would look great there.by LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kurt, I was shocked to find out the displayed candy was not part of the deal. That should have been marked and noted in photo. I have to check with my Lawyer (he plays golf Tuesday through Thursday) but that could be a deal breaker. Gary responded but no mention of the displayed candy as part of the deal. All kidding aside I wish I could afford one of his wonderful knives Thisby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Finally a Barnes piece I might be able to afford. How much for the "Executive M n M Holder"? How many payments can I spread that out to? I checked and am positive I do not have an "Executive M n M Holder". I was thinking a nice fun wood to work with like Cocobolo. ha ha.. I loved both knives but all the good stuff in life seems to be out of my reach. sigh. But you neby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, It looks like it is taking shape. I think we all can feel the excitement in your posts. Glad you had the help of the "PRO TEAM" to help make it happen. Now I understand just how big a project it is to set up. Looking forward to the future. Be safe, Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Sounds like a little more than luck. I think you set it up just right then got the whisper.. Glad it went well. Hunker down I think you will be OK if the track stays the same. Prayers on the way for everyone in the path. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, That is so cool and it now has a more Country and Western look to me. I like it. But it really changes the look of the knife and both look great. Any Country Music Star would be proud to own that. Thanks for sharing that. I wonder if you could post a photo of them side by side when this one is finished. Great job. The milled bolsters look so natural I missed it again tilby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Even in black and white or old photos they all shine. I agree with Kurt those not just made as art but displayed as art. Your skills and eye for art really shows in everyone of those. Stunning. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Hmmmmmmmm! The Knife looks like it will be killer when finished, but don't drop it in the woods.. ha ha. You might need to install a Clapper to find it. The parts in the lathe looks very airgun to me.. The food......YUM. I just had oatmeal for breakfast.. sigh. Great to see chips flying. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary and Kurt, I have not had an experience just like yours but here in Asia we have bacteria that eat foam. Like the kind they pack scopes, cameras, and expensive gear in. It gets on it and turns the nice grey foam into sticky black snot that I spent two hours trying to get off of an expensive piece of gear. Oil, alcohol, nail polish remover, and anger, had no effect or made it worse.by LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Good to hear that I bet. Must have slowed your heart rate down a bit. I am really glad. Be safe, Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Wow, I think BEAUTY might not be strong enough to describe the knife. But it works till you come with a better word or make one up. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Happy 4th to you both and your helpers. They seem more friendly than the elves. Did the weather keep the elves grumpy? Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary and Kelly, Congratulations on your Wedding Anniversary. The ring is really something to see. I hope it just keeps on rolling. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
