I've been working on the stock carving I told you I had lined up.

Hawk 018.JPG

This is showing the first pass. The basic "hogging out" of the raw design I laid out by hand. There will be at least three other complete passes and a couple of detail and final passes before it's complete.

Also completed some precise tooling which allowed me to press this solid brass base component to be used in a special reservoir cover panel.

This will be shaped, pierced, engraved, polished ... Part of another rifle ... not this one. I have a few things up my sleeve as accessory possibilities.

thumbs up

Gary

After today's caving. Thru several passes now.

This is just the raw Walnut ... no oil finish yet.

Hope you enjoy seeing it. This is for a customer's 308 rifle.

Just amazing to see and love the details. Those panels are very large and not your typical diamond checkering for sure.

Hello Mike,

Thank you very much. I enjoy doing it. It sure is awkward to get into position to make the cuts though. You can't just sit like you are reading a book. The gun stock goes through every point of the compass on about six axis ... hahah.
